1. Chapter One
Xavier's Point of View
I looked in the mirror and made sure my outfit was all in order, before I put a comb through my brown hair. I pushed it up with some gel until my hair was standing tall at an angle. Perfect. I shaved earlier, so my little beard was gone around my angled jaw line. Begin half Italian has suited me well giving my frame a nice even tan. I stepped out of my bathroom and went to collect and change my little brother.
I was running low on cash so I needed to do good on this casting today and buy some more huggies for Kristopher he was on his last diaper. "Now hold still, I'm almost done." I said and he laughed at me and hugged his feet to his chest as I dressed him.
"Mulan are you dressed yet for preschool."
"I been sitting' here the whole time, and I...I still can't tie my shoe." She said slumped over the couch.
I wrapped Kristopher in a blanket and put him in his carseat, then I pulled Mulan into my lap. "Look, you take a lace in each hand, then go over, under, make a loop and pull."
"I did it! I did it Big brother!" Her green eyes lit up
"I knew you could do it." I said kissing her forehead "Now go get your coat."
After dropping off my little sister at school and my brother at Daycare, I headed to the casting call. The building looked so plain on the outside. I was shocked to see the lavish modern furniture on the inside. A young woman around my age was sitting at the clerk's desk.
"Excuse me miss, my name is Xavier Triad. I'm here for the casting." I said handing her my profile
She gasped and licked her lips at the sight of me. "Is that all you came for?" She flirts.
I rolled my eyes. "Can you direct me to the casting call or not?" I asked agitated
"Of course, right this way."
The room was a few doors down the hall. Three caster's sat at a table on the far end of the loft, and a back room.
"Druid, it doesn't take that long to get coffee!" An older man said pinching his glasses
"I'm coming, Carter damn." She said walking out of the back room and swiping her nose with her index finger.
I stared at her for a long time, my eyes lingering on her ebony face. Big natural curls clung to her like a portrait, falling to her shoulder blades. She had a strong curve to her lips, making them naturally pull up into a slight smile. She had brown eyes. I didn’t even need to be close to her to see how bright they were. Her skin was dark and unblemished. The curve of hips and her ass made my mouth water. She almost seemed unreal.
She finally looked up from my profile. The intensity of her eyes set something in me aflame. I wonder what she was thinking.
"You have excellent credentials, Mr. Triad. You must be talented if my old teacher recommended you so highly. What have you prepared today?"
Her Bronx accent made my heartthrob. "A monologue from scene 19." I said keeping the intense eye contact
"You may begin." She said crossing her right arm over the other and kicking her heels on the table.
"I was never yours when I was yours. You don't stay awake at night thinking of me.
You don't know anything passed my name or what keeps me awake at night.
You never know what to say to me when i’m upset, not that you ever have.
You certainly never loved me. You only see me as your trophy..
And now after your world comes crashing down, you seem to have finally realized that I am the only one who cared.
I can't be in this one sided relationship anymore, we’re done."
Three of the four judges clapped while this goddess just stared at me with those beautiful brown eyes. "That was the best cast I've seen all day, but you need more emotional contact. Come, take a walk with me."
'Yes!' But I had to keep cool
"I'll give you the gig..."
"Thank you so much! You don't even know how.. I yelled interrupting her
She held a finger to my lips and the smell of her perfume filled my nose, like rosewater. "Calm down, I'm from the Bronx, love, you'll have to work harder. Come here every Tuesday and Thursday for workshop. You can fix your schedule with Rita."
The ginger clerk shifted her attention from her lipstick and smiled showing her gap.
"She has the London Look." I said
Druid started laughing so hard she clutched her stomach and tears fell down her face. "Your funny."
"Soo, I'll see you later."
