How To Live Again

Devan Abbott's life has been dragged through hell and back. Or is she back? Her dad died 6 months ago and now her mom can't pay the house bills anymore. They're house is taken from them and they now have to live with her Mom's best friend, Janice Valdez. Janice is very rich and has 2 sons that are twins. Most people would all the charming, handsome, and perfect. She would classify them as selfish and annoying. She hasn't met them but who would need to? How wrong she was. Julian and Lucian Valdez are the most handsome and charming boys at their school. All of the girls are crazy about them. They sleep around and play with girls like it's a game. Or at least that's how they used to be. Losing someone that you love is hell. Sometimes all you need is to learn how to live again together.

Chapter 1: Meeting Julian and Lucian

Devan's POV

"Devan! Hurry up! We have to get to the limo or it might leave without us!" My mom shouted from downstairs.

"I'm coming!" I yelled back. I sighed and looked down at the picture of my dad. It has been 6 months now and it still feels like it was yesterday. My dad was on his way to his work when a car came out of no where and hit him. They said he died instantly. That was the worst day of my life.

My eyes watered. I missed him so much. "Devan?" I heard mom say softly behind me.

I sniffled and put the picture in my suitcase. I wiped my eyes and zipped up the suitcase. "I'm coming." I muttered.

She sighed and wrapped her arms around me. "I miss him a lot."

I smiled sadly "Me too."

"And I'm sorry. I know you don't want to leave home."

"I know momma. It's not your fault."

She kissed me on the cheek. "I love you."

"I love you too." Her arms dropped and I picked up my suitcase.

"Do you have everything?"

I nodded. "Yeah, I think so."

"Ok, let's get down to the limo. We don't want to keep Janice and her family waiting." I nodded and mom walked down the stairs. I sighed and looked around my room for the last time. I would miss my house, it has all of my memories from my childhood. My heart grew heavy as I walked down the stairs and to the door. My hand shook as I opened the door and looked back in my house. This would be the last time I would see this house. I sighed and closed the door behind me.

An hour later

The limo pulled up to a pretty normal looking house for someone who is rich. It was blue and had a U as a driveway. The driver stopped and stepped out. He came over to my side and opened the door. I stepped out and pulled my suitcase along with me. The door to the house opened and I heard a loud squeal. I winced and covered my ears when mom squealed back. Mom ran past me to the petite woman and hugged her. I walked up to them awkwardly and jumped when the limo door was slammed shut.

The woman stepped back and walked to me. "Devan? Is that really you? My you've grown into a beautiful young woman." She put her hands on my cheeks as she said this.

I blushed and fidgeted a little. "Thank you."

"The boys will have a hard time keeping they're eyes off of you." She winked and my eyes widened. She laughed at my panicked look. "Calm down sweetie." She put her arm through mine and did the same to mom. She dragged us up to the still open door and closed it behind us. The living room was huge, it had some comfortable looking brown couches and little tables by the two couches.

A man with brown hair and high cheekbones walked over to mom and gave her a kiss on the cheek. "Elora, it's so great to see you."

"It's great to see you too Jason. Your house is beautiful."

"Oh thank you. I decorated it myself." Janice said and smiled at mom warmly. "Jace (her nickname for her husband), where are the boys?"

"In there room playing video games. I told them to come out here, they probably ignored me."

She sighed. "Probably. JuJu! LuLu! Janice and Devan are here!"

I heard groans and loud footsteps. Two boys, or should I say men walked into the room. I almost choked on my spit. One of them had blonde hair and the other had brown hair. But other than that they looked exactly alike with their high cheekbones and ocean-like blue eyes. "Mom, I thought you promised that you wouldn't say that around people." One of them complained.

Janice rolled her eyes. "Janice and Devan will be living here anyways." She turned to us. "Boys, this is Janice and Devan." They looked at mom then looked at me. I blushed and fidgeted as they both stared me down. "Devan this is Julian," she pointed to the one with brown hair, "and this is Lucian," she said as she pointed to the one with blonde hair.

I nodded. Mom elbowed me and I scowled. "Hi." I said quietly.

"Hey." Julian said gruffly.

Lucian just smiled at me and said," Your cute."

My eyes widened and my face filled with heat. "Lucian!" Janice glared at him. "You're making Devan uncomfortable."

He raised his hands in surrender. "It was just a compliment mom." She huffed.

"Anyways, boys I have some interesting news about your room." They both stiffened. "Devan will be staying in the room with you." They both looked shocked for a second, then it all went to hell after that.

Hey everybody, so I know I haven't been updating my other stories. I just have been having writers block with all of my stories and I think it will help if I just take a break from them and start some other books cause I have a lot of new story ideas. So Janice and Jason are rich but they just have a house where they can live comfortably. The house has 3 beds and 4 baths. Each room has a bathroom then there is another bathroom in the hallway for when guests are there and need to go to the bathroom. Anyways please like, favorite, and comment!
