I woke up to the sound of faint beeping. I heard Ashton's voice and opened my eyes slowly, still adjusting to the bright lights. Ashton's body came into full focus slowly. I could see his back was turned to me and he was on the phone, his face was concerned and focused. Lines of worry crossed his face and anger flashed in his eyes:
"Yeah, I know Sheila, and I'm sorry. It's just I have to be here. I'll be back soon. The rest of the band is almost out there." He sighed and shut his phone and turned back to me. I just stared at him for a moment, in dead silence.
"Ashton, I..." I started, but he cut me off.
"Lexi, don't. Just don't." He looked down at his feet, he couldn't even look me in the eye.
"Please just let me explain."
"What else have you been keeping from me, Lexi?"
"Ashton...." I said slowly, trying to calm him down. I placed my hand on top of his, but he jerked his hand away.
"No. Lexi. Just don't. I'm done. We're done." He almost growled as he turned away from me.
"Ashton. Please don't do this, I love you." I was fighting back the tears.
"Lexi, you've lied to me to many times. About this, about your family, and don't think I don't know about the fresh cuts in your wrists. Lexi, I can't do this. I thought we were going to be honest with each other." He snapped as he started walking to the door.
"Ashton, please don't go." I sobbed.
"Goodbye, Alexandra." He said quietly as he shut the door and left.
"ASHTON!" I screamed. I buried my head in my pillow and cried myself back to sleep.
I woke up a few hours later and pulled my clothes back on. I wasn't just going to give up on him, on us. I hopped in a taxi and headed to the guys hotel in downtown Manhattan. I kept dialing his cell and texting the guys.
To: Lukey Bear🐻
Luke, please tell Ashton to call me. I really just need to explain. Please.
From: Lukey Bear🐻
Lex, as much as I would love to help you out, but Ash's my mate. You understand don't you?
To: Lukey Bear🐻
Okay, at least let me up into the room? I'll talk to him.
From: Lukey Bear🐻
Okay, we're in room 2001
You have 15 minutes and then we have to go.
I snapped my phone shut and hopped on the elevator. The boys were on the top floor, in the penthouse suite.
I knocked on the door and it was quickly opened by Calum.
"Lexi!" He exclaimed in suprise. "Look, Lexi. Ashton has made it very clear to all of us that he does not want to see you, so I'm gonna have to ask you to leave." Calum said coldly and started to close the door.
I quickly stuck my foot in the door and glared at Calum.
"Let. Me. In." I hissed and shoved him aside and opened the door the rest of the way.
"Lexi, I really don't think..." Calum shut his mouth quickly and that was when I saw him. His brown hair was in his face and sticking up everywhere. He had on a pair of pajama pants and wasn't wearing a shirt. He hadn't noticed me yet, he was turned talking to Luke, who was the first to notice me. His eyes widened and Ashton turned around and for the first time since we met, I was speechless.
"What do you want Lexi?" He growled.
"I just want to talk." I breathed
"You've said enough, just go." He said turning away from me.
"No. I'm not leaving until you give me a chance to explain. If you still want me gone after that, then fine. I'll go, but you have to know why I didn't tell you." I gestured to the balcony and he followed me out.
