12. Chapter 12
I walked into the back room where I saw Lexi go earlier. She had closed the door and I was still slightly concerned after what had happened a few days ago. I opened the door and saw Luke's left hand on top of hers, his right hand under her chin. She looked at me, jumped off the bed and smiled at me.
"Hey babe." I said as I pulled her into my arms and smiled at her. She wrapped her arms around my neck and watched Luke leave. I pulled away from her and placed my hands on the side of her face.
"Ashton, listen. I don't know what you saw between Luke and I, but I swear it wasn't...." She tried to explain but I cut off her off as I leaned in and pressed my lips against hers. Her body relaxed in my arms and it just felt as though we were the only two people in the world and nothing else mattered. It was just her and me, frozen in time.
She pulled away from me and leaned her head against my shoulder. I felt her tears streak down her face. I stroked her hair as she cried into my jacket. We heard the pilot come on and say that we were about 6 hours out and that we needed to take a seat and strap ourselves in due to the bad weather.
Lexi and I climbed onto the bed and strapped ourselves in. She put her head on my shoulder and after a few minutes she was out like a light. I had fallen asleep not long after, my arms wrapped around her.
A while later the door opened and Calum walked in.
"Ashton, Lexi, wake up!" He shouted at us and Lexi jumped up and was thrown back into the bed by the seat belt. I sat up slowly and rubbed my eyes.
"What is it?" I asked groggily.
"Look out your window." Calum grinned as he gestured towards the window, where fans were lined up with signs and posters. I laughed as I looked from Calum to Lexi.
"Welcome to New York City."
