It's Friday and that mean it's sleep over time! I remember when Emma and I use to have sleepovers when we were like seven and she told me that shaving cream was whipped cream, she made me eat it. Even back then she was a troublemaker.
I grab my backpack and see my dad with his luggage. I forgot today is the day that my dad has to go back to training or whatever.
“Dad do you really have to go?” I squeeze him as tight as I can so he wouldn't leave. My dad is the closest parent, I still love my mom with all my heart, but we'll never have a connection like me and my dad have.
“I'm afraid so sweetie.” he got out of my tight grip and kisses my forehead. “I'll be in touch, I promise.” he hugs me one last time and leaves out the front door.
“Mary, I have really good news.” my mom captures my attention away from my father. I turn to my mom and she's smiling really big so it must be really good news.
Before she can even get a word out, a car horn blew for me, it's Penelope.
“Bye mom. You can tell me Sunday.” I quickly hug her.
I see Emma waving her hand out the car as I go outside.
I go in the car, seeing that Jordan is in the front seat and he looks really awkward and quiet. That's cute. A guy who's awkward and adorable is a definite turn on. Wait I thought they were fighting or something.
Penelope starts the car and Jordan tells Penelope something, but I don't know what it was. Emma is admiring Jordan but not like she usually does. She would just take a quick glance, then just look out the window being all quiet.
The Emma I know would just stare and have a flirty face and definitely wouldn't be quiet. Poor thing, inside she probably wants to scream and cry her lungs out. I shouldn't have fought with Dylan and none of this would be happening. Emma would be happy with him, and I will be truly happy myself. Even though she probably wouldn't be friend, I would, glad to see that she's happy
We get to school and Emma walks with to my locker, we were walking over there and Caleb is standing over there. Again. He broke up with me why can't he be a normal ex and just leave me alone. I know he just wants sex but seriously if we break up just act like you don't know me and don't pretend like you want a real relationship, please.
“I can take care of it,” Emma murmurs, pointing straight to Caleb. I nod in disagreement and put her hand down. "Okay but if he goes to far say cream cheese."
I laugh which broke my concentration off of telling Caleb off, I'm going to be so off. Emma is so weird.
"Hey babe." Caleb tried to kiss my cheek but I push him away from me.
Emma is just leaning against the lockers, enjoying the sight of all this. I can't believe that he had the nerve to actually try to kiss me, well it's only on the cheek but still.
“I'm not your babe anymore,” I snap.
“So your mad at me?” he scratches the back of neck, awkwardly. Why does he have to be so stupid? You don't ask someone to have sex with you, it just happens out of the moment with the right person and he's not it.
“Just leave me alone,” I said, getting him out of my sight. He grabs my arm. Emma goes up to him and slaps him across the face.
“You don't grab her!” Emma yells, slapping him across his face.
Caleb's grabbing his face, you can tell that he was embarrassed being slapped by a girl. I never seen Emma snap like that and I known her since beginning of time. She would usually just say something really rude or sarcastic but never do anything physical except the thing with me but that's a different story.
Caleb leaves, still grabbing his face where she slapped him and Emma opens her locker like nothing happened. Everyone's eyes are on us and Emma isn't paying any attention to them, just what she's getting out of her locker.
“Emma, what was that?” I whisper.
She huffs and closes her locker with a fake smile on her face. I can tell it was fake. It's my duty as a best friend to know when my best friend is down. I would be more than happy to help her but I'm afraid I would make it worse with my big mouth.
“I didn't want him to hurt my best friend,” she tugs on my arm to go to our class.
I get dragged into the girls' bathroom with Penelope and Violet.
This is Emma's first time in the 'conference room'. Emma looks around the room in disgust. “Why are we in the bathroom?”
“It's a girls meeting,” Violet informed her. She's still confused but she just shrugged her shoulders. “So what happened between you and Mr. Man whore out there?”
“Emma, you just slap the shi-crap out of him,” Penelope said, stopping herself from cussing. “It's okay to tell us, that's why we're in the bathroom.”
Emma leaves the bathroom without saying anything. We didn't meant to make it worse, they just wanted to know what happen and maybe we can help if she took it out on him because she's upset or something.
The bell rings and I try to look for Emma but no luck. Then I hear a really loud sober coming from the janitor's closet which I didn't even know it exist. I open up the door, there is Emma crying her eyes out and she gets up, wiping her tears.
I go in there with her and this closet is way bigger than it looks.
“I know you're not okay. I've been knowing since we made up and I should've said something but I was afraid to make it worse,” I said, seeing tears in her almond brown eyes. “It's okay not to be okay just know that it's okay to talk to me.”
she didn't say anything, hugging me.
“I really loved Dylan and I'm just upset about this whole thing,” she said, sobering even more when she tells me that and pulls out of my hug.
Someone walks in.
“Awesome. Now you two kiss,” some guy with bronze blonde hair and his eyes are ocean blue. He's pretty hot and perverted so I would assume he's part of Caleb's clique.
I grab Emma's hand, pushing the hottie out of our way and headed to class with everyone staring at us. The teacher told us we were late and we walk over to our seats with everyone's eyes still on us. If that blue eyed hottie starts a rumor about us, it's not going to be fun for either of us.
The last bell rings for the day, I'm out here waiting for Emma which always takes forever from where ever she comes from. While I'm waiting for Emma, the guy from the closet incident smirks at me and walks away. Perv.
I look to my right and see Jordan standing right there. I wonder if he knows that Penelope went home with Violet? I thought he would've known unless he's still fighting with her.
“Oh hey Mary.” Jordan said, noticing me.
I smile at him, staring at his eyes again but I caught myself this time.
“Hey, who you waiting for?” I ask.
“Um Jordan she left with Violet. They're having a sleepover tonight. I thought she would've told you,” I informed. “I can give you a ride if you want?”
“Mary, I don't want to be any trouble.”
“Don't worry you won't be and plus it's my friend who left you here.”
Emma comes just in time; her mom has just pulled up. For some reason she has this habit of doing something at the last minute.
Jordan sits in the middle of Emma and I, it's kinda awkward for him and me because he's so tall. Well to me he is but then again I'm exactly five foot and I don't think I can be any shorter for my age.
We drop off Jordan at his house and it's not really big it's just a cute house has a charcoal black rooftop with cherry red all around the house. I would love to have a cute little house like that when I'm grown up.
When we arrive at Emma, I drop my stuff in Emma's room and jump on her bed, looking at the her white ceiling. I love Emma's room, it reminds me of summertime with her pale yellow walls and her white carpet thats soft as a bunny. The sad thing is that summer is over and now it's fall which isn't my favorite time of the year but it's almost Halloween and I'm excited. Halloween is my favorite time of the year right in front of my birthday and Christmas because I get to watch horror movies and eat candy corn all night. Lame but it's more fun than it sounds.
“So you and Roy getting together anytime soon?” Emma laughs.
I hit her with one of her yellow furry pillows. Now that time she was trying to piss me off.
Thinking about Roy made me smile and Emma is smirking at me. “Looks like someone has a crush. Just admit it.”
“Okay maybe Ido like him but I doubt he likes me. I rejected him once already,” I admitted.
Her eyes looks like they're about to pop out of her head and she squeals so loud that her mom comes in.
“Sorry mom. I got too excited again.”
Her mom scoffed, leaving the room.
“Why did you reject him?” Emma asked, pushing my arm. She's a pretty strong girl for someone who is small like her. She puts her hands on her hips waiting for my response.
“I was dating Caleb an-”
“I don't care if you're dating the sexiest man alive. You never reject Roy Wesley,” Emma interrupted, putting her finger close to my lip. “He's the sweetest thing ever and I wish I never rejected him.”
“I might have ruin my chances with him,” I complain.
Emma has that look. That look where she has an idea and every time she has an idea, it doesn't usually turn out well. Like one time she told me tell my sixth grade crush, Tyler Winters that I like him and he never talked to me again.
“Do you have his number?” she asked, raising her eyebrows. Don't tell me she's not going to do what I think she's going to do.
I have my phone on my lap and she grabs it before I can even react to it. “Emma, don't you dare.”
“This is what best friends are for,” she smirks, holding the phone to her ear. If she does anything to embarrass me, I swear I will unleash a wrath that she has never seen before. “Hey Roy, it's Emma Farewell. I called to talk to you about Mary.”
“That would be her,” she nods.
Trying to hear what he has to say. I can kinda hear his voice but I don't know what they're talking about.
“Well there is this Halloween party next Saturday and Mary would definitely be there. She would love it if you come,” Emma gives me the 'okay' signals with her index finger and thumb.
I grab the pillow of her bed and throw it at her but she catches it.
“Emma-” She gives me the finger.
“It's going to be at Jordan Baker's house,” she nods. “Oh so you know him?”
She sits on my window ledge. I sit in the chair at her laptop and begin to listen. If she's going to talk to him then might as well listen.
“Y'all should wear couple costume, I believe.”
You can hear him laughing. His laugh is so cute over the phone.
“It would definitely be cute all you have to is talk to her about it,” she's said in a flirty way. “So Roy do you like Mary, like, like-like her?” she lifted her eyebrows.
She asked the only question that I hope she would avoid.
“Please tell me,” she begs. “Because I need to know if I can be a bridesmaid at y'all's wedding.”
I face palm in embarrassment, leaning back in the chair and try to tune out the next embarrassing that's going to come out of her mouth.
“Stop being embarrassing me,” I whisper.
She ignores me and laying on her bed. I get up from the chair and lay right by her.
“So you do like her?” I blush instantly at that.
She winks at me as I start to go through her movie collection that was right by her bed. She has The Notebook, Titanic, Forest Gump, Dirty Dancing, and the list just keeps going, all she has is romance movies. Plus all the season to the Teen Wolf series which she probably seen literally thousand times.
“Oh well she's single now,” she exaggerated.
You hear him say she is? Which made me turn around and Emma is giving me a thumbs up.
She finally hangs up after making a fool of myself. I appreciate her trying to help but please don't embarrass me in the meantime.
Emma throws me my phone and laid down on the bed right next to me.
“What?” I shrug my shoulders.
“He seems to really be interested in you but he won't tell me for sure,” Emma squealed. My eyes widened at her statement. I didn't think he cared about me like that. “He said that he's going to the party.” She pats my hand that was behind me. “He also said that you had a good ass.” She joked.
I grab her pillow and hit her in the face.
“What do you want to do now future Mrs. Wesley?” she asked, running to her door to avoid getting hit with another pillow.
“We can make snacks,” I suggest.
We go down to the kitchen to start looking for snacks.
I open the cabinet by the fridge and I found a box of brownies which gives me an idea.
“What's the secret?” Emma begged. She keeps threatening to call Roy and tell him that I want to marry him if I don't tell her.
I put the secret recipe--which is melted coconut oil and melt chocolate-- and pour the batter into the pan then stick it in the oven that was preheating. Emma is sitting on top of the island counter, pouting because I won't tell her the secret. I mock her, she starts to smile and laugh like a little kid.
“The secret is....beach hotties,” I sarcastically whisper to her.
She rolls her eyes and smiles.
We sit in the living room and watch Teen Wolf which is like so repetitive, I recognize this episode and I don't even watch this show.
It's a good show but I don't think it's that good to watch the same thing everyday for the rest of your life. This is the episode where Jackson is a kanima, it's looks kinda creepy if you ask me. He's hot but weird looking at the same time. Emma is so obsessed with Jackson that she has literally five posters of him on her wall, it's weird. Plus she only watches the episodes with him in it and nothing further than that.
“I almost forgot. I have something for you,” Emma blurted out, jogging to her room.
She comes out her room with something behind her back. This better not be a joke like when she gave me a tarantula and she told me it was candy. Which I don't know see how she can tolerate that, she freaks out over everything. I have this phobia with spiders and if I even think of them, I will freak out. Chills just went down my spine.
It's a Hello Kitty journal with a bunch of stickers and cutout pictures, you can tell it was homemade but I love it. On the front it said's Mary Jane Fall's Journal, she uses my full name because she knows I hate it.
“Its suppose to be for your birthday but consider it as a reunion present,” she smiled.
I get up to hug her and she squeezes me but I don't care. She's the best friend that I ever had and I'm so happy that we reunited.
“Let's stalk through cute guys Facebook,” Emma said, pulling my arm into her room and she opens her laptop to her feed. "Let's start with your boyfriend."
I roll my eyes.
We clicked on Roy's Facebook and his profile picture was with some blonde girl, she was pretty and she looked around his age. He was in his football uniform and she was holding him pretty close to him, it kinda bothers me. But we went through the rest of his pictures.
As we're going to his pictures, that girl is in a lot of pictures with him but I have no right to be angry. He's not my boyfriend or anything. The next profile we go on is Jordan's and he looks really hot in a football uniform. I saw a picture of him and Penelope the night of the homecoming game. They are so cute together.
I saw a picture of Jordan and Roy together at a football game, and they're wearing the same football uniforms. I didn't know they went to the same school. Roy is so hot, why can't he be mine?
Me and Emma spends all night going through every hot guy that Emma can think and that's a lot.
We need a life.
