Today is already Thursday and I want the weekend to be here. I still haven't heard anything about Dylan's case if he's guilty or not. Me and Emma decided to have a sleepover for old times sake.
I take one last look at myself in the mirror and go downstairs to see that my dad made me some Hello Kitty cereal. He still remembers that I love Hello Kitty.
"Mary I was thinking I can take you to school today." I nod immediately.
After I finished my cereal, dad drops me off right in front of the school. I kiss him on the cheek and go to my locker.
Caleb is at my locker and he doesn't pissed but he doesn't look happy either. He's leaning against my locker and he gets up as soon as I go in his direction.
“Hey Caleb.” I greet him.
“Hey Mary.” He sounded like something was wrong. “We need to talk.”
I instructed him to continue and lean against my locker and he's right in front of me, it reminded me when Dylan used to do that. This time Caleb wasn't pinning me against the wall. “Lets breakup.”
Lets breakup, seriously? You honestly couldn't of said it in a stupider way. He's probably cheating on me anyway. I really did care about Caleb but I can't let a guy get in the way of my education and my future if he's not going to be in it.
“Okay.” I nod. He has an expression on his face like he's hurt. He actually expects me to be upset about this? You're just a guy that I've been dating for like I don't even think a week.
"You're not upset?" Caleb places his hand on my shoulder.
"No. We never had a serious relationship."
"Don't touch her!" Emma snaps.
He walks away in silence and I couldn't help but feel bad. He broke up with me so I don't see why he would be hurt and plus he can sleep as many girls as he wants.
"You have a lot to explain." Emma chuckles.
I close my locker and we walk to class in peace like the good ole days. "Why Caleb? You can do so much better." Emma complained. I pull out a chair next to her.
"Well it started when he came to my house out of nowhere and we kissed." I explain. Her eyes looked like they were going to pop out of her head.
"I'm glad y'all broke up. Now you have to time for Roy." She whispered Roy. Emma nudges my shoulder and gives me a wink. "He's really a sweet guy. I can talk to him for you if you-" I interrupted her.
"Please don't, Emma." I chuckle.
"Y'all could get marry and have the most beautiful children." Emma kept rambling about Me and Roy. I really like him but I don't know if he still interested since I rejected him. I doubt it but I can't blame him.
"Emma we are never going to happen." I stop her from rambling on.
"Look who has a crush." She points out the redness of my face.
I playfully push her and we walk to the lunch line. Today we are having red beans and rice with our choice of milk, that's definitely going to fill me up. Not.
I grab my plate of food and Emma is already talking to group of football players. How does she do that? "I'll be in there in a minute."
I walk to where we usually sit which the part of the cafeteria that nobody sits, it's peaceful and you don't have to worry about the cheerleaders gossiping about you.
I rip the plastic off my fork and see someone sit right in front of me, it was a guy. When I look up, Caleb was in front of me, smiling at me. You broke up with me, don't you usually act like you don't know me right about now.
"Hey girl." He stares into my eyes.
I try to avoid eye contact with him by eating my food.
"I'm not your girlfriend anymore. So you can't be annoying and I act like it's cute." I said, rolling my eyes.
He laughs and puts his hand in mine. He tries to give me the look that most girls would die over but not me.
I pull my hand away from him and he bits his lip. "What do you want?"
"You." He blurts out. "See babe I was thinking maybe we can be friends." He lifts his eyebrows and try to come closer to me over the table. "With benefits." He must really want me to slap him across his gorgeous face.
My mouth drops out of astonishment. What would make him think that I want to be friends with benefits with him? I wasn't upset when he broke up with me so what makes him think that I want to see him more than I have to.
"Leave her alone." Jordan comes up to him and Caleb looks shocked by his existence. "Like now." He sounded pretty rude and never thought the humble, quiet Jordan Baker could be rude. From Penelope and Emma tell me he's pretty sweet.
Caleb gets up and leaves in silence, that was pretty funny.
"Thanks." I chuckled. As soon as I made eye contact with him, I notice how his green eyes popped like Roy's.
I'm staring pretty hard at his eyes until Jordan snaps his fingers to break my concentration. "Sorry. Your eyes are beautiful." Now he thinks I'm a total creep. Nice going Mary.
"Thanks. I get that a lot." He chuckles. "I came here to invite you to my Halloween party next Saturday. I was going to tell Penelope to invite you but I can't find her anywhere." He starts to look around for her. Wow, a Halloween party? The only party I've been to were mine and Penelope's. I could be Hello Kitty! "And you can wear a costume."
"Can I bring a friend?" I want to bring Roy since I'm single and I could start to making my move if it's not too late. "it won't be Caleb I promise."
"Yeah that's fine." Jordan flashes me his pearly whites.
Emma gets here as soon as Jordan leaves the cafeteria.
"What did Mr. McHottie want?" Emma smirks.
"He invited me to his Halloween party next Saturday."
She starts jumps up and down, clapping her hands like a little kid.
"You and Roy can be Harley Quinn and Joker." Emma gasp.
Penelope and Violet walk in with widened eyes.
"Jordan is looking for you." I tell Penelope. She nods like she doesn't care.
Emma just sat down and finally settled down.
I'm confused, are they broken up because if they then I just broke the number one rule of friendship. Never bring up exes especially if they broke up recently.
"They got into a fight." Violet informed me.
"It wasn't a fight. It's just a misunderstanding." Penelope corrects Violet.
Violet rolls her eyes in annoyance. "So how are you and Caleb doing?"
"They broke up." Emma blurts out before I can even have a chance to speak. She always have to have necessity to do that but she's lucky I love her.
Penelope and Violet don't look surprise, I didn't even expect it to last this long.
"Now he wants just friends....with benefits."
Everyone, including Emma, has a disgusted look on there face. I knew that Caleb was a playboy and perverted but didn't think he would have the nerve to even ask me that question.
"That is so Caleb of him." Emma said sarcastically and continue to eat her lunch.
I look down and hardly ate mine. Thinking about Caleb made me sick, it's official, I lost my appetite.
"I was thinking maybe we could have our sleepover at my house tonight." Emma suggested.
I nod in response and went to dump my plate.
"Sleepover? And y'all didn't invite me." Violet jumps in, it's mainly so me and Emma can reunite.
"It's just for Emma and Mary's reunion, Violet." Penelope air quotes reunion.
Violet grabs her chest in relief and huffs.
"We should have a sleepover this weekend, Penelope." Violet turns to her. "You never been to my house."
They started to talk about their plans for the sleepover.
The bell rings to go the next class and me and Emma walk to our class together talking about me and Roy should get marry or supposedly get married and have the most beautiful children again. I'm starting to think that's she's talking me because she's trying to get her mind off of Dylan. It's literally makes me want to cry, she acts like she's okay but I know deep down, she's the complete opposite. Couldn't blame her, her boyfriend is a complete lunatic.
As soon as I grab me a seat in the back of the classroom, I lay my head down and drift to sleep.
