I wake up to the sight of Penelope at the end of my bed and Violet at my window seal. I at long last sat up once my vision cleared up a tad bit. Violet was wearing a charcoal shading tank top with plum hued pants and some dark combat boots. Penelope was wearing a dark grey sweatshirt with dark pants and white converse. Did I sleep until winter or something?
"We've been worrying about you, Mary. What's going on?" Violet got up from my bed to look out of my window.
"I'm not sure if I want to talk about it." I pulled the covers off of me and went to my closet to look for something to wear.
"We're your friends, Mary." Penelope got up. "You need to tell us what's going on." I looked at Penelope then at Violet and she gave me a nod. She's right, they are my friends and they do deserve to know what happened. "Is it Caleb?"
"I swear I will-" Violet got interrupted.
"No it's not him. Not even close."
I took a deep breath and took a seat on my bed. I started to tell them everything about my kidnapping and the other thing. While I was telling them, I started to cry and this is what I was afraid of. That I was going to cry and I hate crying in front of people. It made me look weak even if it was around my closest friends.
Violet got up from the window seal and Penelope puts her arm around me and they comfort me.
"We will make sure that Dylan bastard burns in hell for what he did," Violet sniffed. I'm really thankful that I have friends like them that cry with me and support me. "Let's go downstairs, shall we." Violet stands in front of us and wipes her tear that was rolling off her face.
I leave my room with Violet's arm intertwine with mine and when I got downstairs, I had an unexpected yet good surprise. The dark brown hair that we both share following the oval shape face.
It was my father that went away from home for military training like almost a year ago. My hand connected with my mouth for not even for a second before jumping on my dad with tears of joy in my eyes.
"You're timing is just amazing, you don't even know." I whispered into his ear and I got off him to look at him. He looks just like what I remembered. The cocoa brown eyes and smile that we both share.
"Actually honey that's why I came." he looked into my eyes.
"Mary, they're having a trial for Dylan Peters' crime and the investigators want you to go to tell your side of the story." My mom tells me over the kitchen counter. I don't want to go, I don't ever want to see him ever again!
"And I'm here to support you, sweetie." My dad grabs my hand.
"I'm not going, I thought I was done with this!" I yell on the top of my lungs. Penelope and Violet come to calm me down.
"But honey-" I cut my mom off.
"I'm not going and that's final," I stormed into my room with Penelope and Violet behind me. "I'm sorry you had to see that guys." I sit on my bed with my hands over my face. What makes my parents think that I would want to say what happened to me in front of hundreds of people. I was scared to tell Violet and Penelope and they're my closest friends.
"Mary, I get it, you don't want to do it but think about," Violet slightly pulled my hands my face. "If you testify and they find Dylan guilty then he's locked away for good." She's right. I guess I'll testify but only to put Dylan Peters away and out of my life and mind.
"I'll do it." I nodded at them and went back downstairs.
When I went downstairs, my mom and dad were holding each other and they were looking at me waiting for my response.
"I'll go. When is it?"
My mom and dad hugs me and tear up a little. My family being together is probably one of the most beautiful things that I can ask for.
"It's Monday." My mom tells me.
"How about we all go out for some lunch?" My dad offers. "Even y'all two can come, it's all on me." He points to Penelope and Violet.
They join in on the family hug that was going on on top of me.
I went to pick something out to wear and Penelope and Violet followed me to my room. Violet jumped on my bed while Penelope plopped herself into my soft pink bean bag.
"If it helps, it's kinda chilly outside." Violet surprised me with that. We never get the slightest breeze here in Georgia Town.
I picked out my ash gray Hello Kitty long sleeve shirt with gray with some gray vans. I didn't notice that I was matching until I turned around and Violet nods in agreement on my outfit.
"Let's go." I put my phone in my back pocket.
We left my room and went downstairs seeing my parents waiting for us.
My dad grabbed his car keys and we out to his pearl white BMW. Violet were having a little trouble trying to squeeze in the back because Violet has really long legs and Penelope is so small.
They finally got it worked out, Penelope sat in the seat with her legs crossed while Violet had all the leg room. That is a moment where I'm glad I have short legs.
We arrive at the Black Dragon restaurant and this is the nicest one we have in our small town. Our town, Georgia Town, is like suburban area and it has a lot of stores and house but it's very small community. If that makes any sense.
We get seated at a table of five where it has the view of the cars passing by.
"I'm Lucy and I'll be y'all's waitress today. Here are y'all's menus and what would y'all like to drink?" Lucy has dark chocolate medium length hair that is curled but it looked natural and she has the prettiest hazel eyes. It's like a mixture of green and yellow.
"I will have a sweet tea." I opened up my menu to see a butt load of delicious food to eat, theres no way I can decide, it can't be done.
"Cherry Cola." Penelope ordered.
"Sorry we only have regular coke." Lucy told her.
"I'll just take that." Penelope said.
While everyone was ordering their drinks, I was just staring at this meal in my menu. It had noodles with some jumbo shrimp on the side, eggroll, and an optional side of fries. This is definitely what I'm getting, the Noodle Shrimp Combo.
"I will give you a few to decide." Lucy puts her notepad in her pocket and goes to the back.
"So Mary who are your friends?" my dad pointed to Penelope and Violet and their cheeks turn to a rose color.
"I'm Violet Montgomery, nice to meet you." She greets my dad with a hand shake and smile.
"Philip Fall, is your mother, Amy Montgomery?" He asked, my dad was one of those that knew pretty much anyone and at his age it's a surprise. Philip Fall is a bit of a tongue twister.
"Yes sir." Violet politely said.
"Me and her used to go to school together." His eyebrows lifted and Violet just nodded.
"I'm Penelope Farewell." Penelope introduces herself and my dad just shakes her hand.
"Have y'all decided?" Lucy comes up to our table.
"Yes ma'am." I wait for Lucy to pull out her notepad and pencil. "I'm going to have the Noodle Shrimp Combo." I close my menu and hand it to her when she was finishing writing it down.
"Do you want the side order of fries?"
Lucy took everyone else order while I just look out the cars and wishing I knew how to drive. My mom was talking to my dad and Penelope was talking to Violet, I feel like a fifth wheeler right now.
My phone vibrated and it's a message from Caleb, it said Hey. Well I thought he was dead because I haven't heard from him in a while, I reply Hey, what's up!:)
Lucy delivers my food and it's way bigger than what the menu showed me. When it said the was jumbo sized, it's jumbo sized alright. I held up the shrimp and it was bigger than my mother's head. I had to pull little by little to eat one full shrimp. Violet has noodles mixed in with tiny shrimp and she had some red sauce on it. I wonder if that's any good. I look over to see that Penelope got a teriyaki on a stick and two eggrolls. I think she's starting to eat like Emma.
All I had left was the fries that I totally forgot about and little bit of noodles. I see Lucy coming to our table with our check.
"Can I get a to go plate please?"
Lucy nodded and handed me a styrofoam plate.
The hardest to get into my plate was the noodles because the sauce kept getting everywhere.
After my struggle with the plate, we left the restaurant and my dad left her a twenty dollar tip. That makes me want to work at a restaurant but honestly I think I want to become a lawyer.
We got home and it was almost two in the afternoon, all I wanted to do was lay in my room and do absolutely nothing. I think Penelope and Violet were thinking the same thing because when I flopped myself on my bed, they got on there, right beside me.
We just layed here not saying a word and then eventually we all drift to sleep.
