I fix my hair for school and went downstairs to receive my breakfast from my mom which is scrambled eggs and honey flavor biscuits. I admire as I take a bite out of my biscuit, who would think that a biscuit could be so good.
My mom is waiting at the door, impatiently and I still wasn't finished with my eggs. I shove the large amount of eggs down my throat to meet my mom in the car. I hated when she made me feel like I was taking forever, I guess she's tired and wants to go to bed. Couldn't blame her for that.
I arrive to school and go to my locker like the usual, my phone starts to vibrate. My heart starts racing, but people aren't looking at me like I'm crazy, so they probably don't hear it or care. I go outside the school, I pull out my phone and it's my dad calling me. Does he know that I have school? I'm pretty sure he does.
“Hey,” I answered after the second ring.
“Hey sweetie. I hope I didn't call you at a bad time,” he said. It's almost eight in the morning on a Tuesday. Of course you called at a bad time.
“No not at all,” I lied.
“I'm just calling you to tell me to tell you that your Aunt Jane wants you to visit her this summer at her house in Colorado,” he said. If Aunt Jane wants me to talk to me then she could've just called me. But I honestly don't think she has my number or my house number. The only reason I don't like going over there is the cold weather. Sometimes I like cold weather every once in a while, but not like every single day.
“Sure, you could give her my number and she can call me,” I said, hanging up on right before the bell rings.
My Aunt Jane is my dad's sister and is probably one of my favorite aunts. She pretty much lets me do anything I want, but I don't really do anything. Me and Emma used to go over there every summer until we were ten, then we stopped for some reason. I think my mom took her name to put as my middle name and I don't think it's okay. If I tell people my full name, they just laugh at it and I don't even know why.
I walk into class, seeing that Emma saved me a seat right next to her. She's waving and smiles when she acknowledges me. Emma moves her backpack out of the seat and turns my way as I walk over to her.
“Hey,” I greeted her.
“Hey, I was thinking that since we're both going to Jordan's party this Saturday that we can go costume shopping Friday,” Emma suggested. Not that I have a problem shopping with Emma but every time we go shopping and I want to buy something Hello Kitty, she always tries to change my mind about it. You don't see me trying to change her mind about Teen Wolf.
“Yeah, sure,” I agreed.
“Okay but no Hello Kitty costumes,” she ordered.
“Emma,” I whined.
She gave me a look and pointed her finger at me. I don't care what she says I'm wearing Hello Kitty.
“I'm wearing Hello Kitty and that's final.”
She chuckles and turns around in her seat.
I was planning on telling Emma about how many years that Dylan was sentenced to but she's taking her afternoon nap at lunch. She's literally has her head on the table and is snoring a little. You didn't get enough sleep last night or something. Her head starts to hang off the table and she wakes up when her head hits on the top of the chair next to her. Ouch.
“I'm going to go sleep in the gym,” Emma groans, dumping her plate and leans against the door to open it. I guess I'm eating lunch alone today.
Today's lunch is really good, its tiny pieces of chicken and had some sweet and sour sauce all over the rice and chicken. My stomach is growling just thinking about it. I pull my fork out of the plastic and ate a piece of chicken. I moan about how good the chicken and I take another bite.
“The chicken must be really good,” a familiar voice in front of me said.
I look up to see Jordan with his plate in his hand.
“Can I sit here?” he asked, pointing to the chair right in front of me.
He pulls out the chair and begins to eat his food. I thought he would be sitting with Penelope or some of his friends, anyone beside me. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with Jordan, it's just that I don't know him that well and I don't want to make him awkward. From what I can see that he's really nice and seems to care about Penelope but I still don't see why he would be sitting with me. He's a football player and he could be sitting with them.
“Penelope isn't here?” I asked. He's literally shoving those pieces of chicken down his throat. He looks up at me and smiles which is kinda cute because his cheeks are filled with the tiny pieces of chicken.
“I just saw you sitting here by yourself and I decided to keep you company,” he said, moving his eyebrows side to side like his would lift one and then lift another. I didn't think it that was possible.
I try to do it but we both end up laughing at my fail attempt, he's like a master at this.
“What are you wearing to your party?”I said, calming myself from laughing.
He started to laugh again which made me want to laugh but then he calmed down.
“Penelope suggest that we wear Mickey and Minnie Mouse costumes but I don't know,” he shrugged. I would love to have someone to do that with and I probably sound like Emma right now. But I don't there's a matching costume with Hello Kitty.
“It would be cute,” I said, trying to grab his plate.
He refuses and grabs my plate instead and dumps it in the trash.
“I just think I would look silly in a Mickey Mouse costume,” he said, putting his backpack over his shoulder and walk out the door. Plus I think Jordan could pull off the whole Mickey Mouse thing.
“You probably won't look as bad as you think you would,” I grinned.
He arches a brow at me and smiles with his sparkly white teeth.
Penelope and Jordan in a Mickey and Minnie Mouse costumes? Probably the cutest thing on earth like seriously. They're a cute couple and could be wearing cute matching costumes. Which makes me want to have a boyfriend right now, but at the same time I kinda don't except for Roy.
We start to walk to the gym, but when I try to go in, my arm is a little tugged by Jordan.
“I have somewhere else we can go,” he said, slightly pulling my arm in the back of the school. I'm kinda scared where he's taking me because last time I went back there, I got kidnapped by a lunatic.
We get there and it's just a little place behind the school, which has a circle of football players and a circle of cheerleaders. So we won't be the only ones back here. We sit like three feet away from the popular cliques which I'm very happy about because Caleb and Natasha are in that clique. Someone is going to try to talk to me, most likely to be Natasha since Caleb is being an ass.
“How did you find out about this?” I ask.
“Well, I don't really have friends over here so I just kinda keep to myself back here,” he said, leaning his head against the wall.
I start to feel someones eyes on me and I can probably give it a good guess who it is. I would say Caleb, but since he dumped me and I rejected the whole his 'friends with benefits' offer, he wouldn't dare to look at me. Honestly right now I would rather it be Natasha staring at me than Caleb and that's bad because I can't stand to be around Natasha. All she does is flirts with every guy with a pulse and gossips which are the top things that bug the shit out of me. I don't see how Caleb tolerated her.
“I'll kick his ass if you want,” Jordan said, lifts his head from the wall.
I give a confuse look and he point to Caleb. Well it's either Caleb still likes or he just has a really bad staring problem.
“Oh no that's fine,” I laughed. I could now feel Caleb still staring at me.
I just turn my body completely in Jordan's direction so I don't get an urge to look at him. Once I turn my body, I look deeply at Jordan's face and he has the cutest freckles. I swear everything about this boy is just cute, now I see what Penelope and Emma see in him. Like his freckles are just around the nose and under his eyes. The best place where freckles can be.
The bell rings and I put my backpack over my shoulder. Jordan is walking beside me which I think his class isn't in the same direction as mine. Why is he walking with me? He's going to be late.
“I hope you don't mind if I walk you to class,” Jordan said.
I look at my feet and smile.
"I don't mind at all."
That's really sweet of him, but I think Emma will be a little worried because I usually wait for her. We start walking to my class and we are in complete silence right now. I guess Jordan really is to himself and shy. We get to my class and Jordan waves goodbye and hurries to his class.
I told you he was going to be late.
The day is finally over so I can go home and take a nice, relaxing bath. I've been waiting for it all day.
I go to the front of the school to wait for my mom to show up. I sit down on the bench so I can rest my legs, for some reason they're aching with pain. My legs are hurting so badly that I decided to put them on the bench where I'm sitting. I'm resting my legs and Jordan comes to meet me over here. I move my legs off the bench so he can sit but he just stays standing.
“I can take you home if you want,” Jordan said, flashing me his keys. I didn't think that he knew how to drive since he's always riding with Penelope.
“Sure if you don't mind,” I said, reassuring my backpack strap that was still over my shoulder.
“No not all.”
I walk over to his car which bright white, the rims are really shiny and the inside is surprisingly clean. I thought guys never really clean or take care of their cars, maybe that's girls. I hope Penelope doesn't get mad about this or anything. She's one of my very good friends and I don't want to risk losing someone over a boy again.
I text my mom saying that I'm riding home with a friend.
Jordan finally gets me home. I thank him and I got out the car with Jordan smiling at me while I go to the front door. My mom is in the kitchen with the biggest grin on her face, I hope she didn't get the wrong idea.
“So did you and Roy kiss?” she said, bursting like she's been holding it in forever. Just because I say I'm with a friend doesn't mean it's Roy. It could've been Emma.
“No, Jordan brought me home not Roy. Where's your bath salt?” I thought that maybe soaking my aching legs in some warm water and bath salts would be a good way to finish off the day.
“Will Jordan be the lucky guy?” she winked. Jordan is adorable and all but I don't see him that way. That's not my man, it's Penelope's and I really hope people don't start to assume anything.
“No mom he's just a friend. Now where are your bath salts?” I start to go towards the bathroom.
“In the top cabinet near the sink,” my mom hollers before I close the door
I look in the cabinet that my mom told me to look in and there they were. A plastic bag with light pink tiny pieces of bath salts and I saw a bath bomb. I grab the bag and the bath bomb, and I started to run my bath. Then I remember that I need to get some clothes to change into. Duh.
I grab a white Hello Kitty shirt with short sleeves and some dark gray joggers.
When I got back, my tub water was almost all over the place. I turn my water off and took off all my school clothes and put them on the counter. Then I put my phone right next to my bath even though it might not be smart. I put my bath salts in the water, then I grab the bath bomb and put my foot in there to check the temperature. It's a tad bit too hot. Both of my feet went in the water and eventually my whole body did.
I drop my bath bomb and watch it dissolves which made my bath water turn to a pale pink color. As soon as I lean back, my phone rings.
It's my Aunt Jane.
“Hey sweetie, did your dad talk about staying with me this summer?” her voice was so sweet and peaceful which made me even more relax. I wish my voice was that peaceful.
“Yes ma'am. I would love to go,” I smiled big as if she can see me.
“Okay. I'll talk to you later sweetie,” she hung up.
I put my phone where it was and continue to enjoy my bath.
I close my eyes and try to block out everything around me then I start to drift off. Roy and his perfect smile, then there's Jordan with the bright green eyes, freckles, and perfect smile but I can't like Jordan. First of all he's taken by my friend and second of all Roy is available and cute which I think he's available. Jordan is just a friend and he's really cute and sweet, but I'm not allow to trespass.
My thoughts get interrupted by my phone ringing. Who is it now?
I dry my hands with the towel and check the caller id. Its Caleb. Why would he be calling me? He never calls me.
“Hey, what's up?” he said in his smooth voice. I can't believe Caleb has the nerve to call me after everything? Maybe if I ignore it, it'll go away. Should I be a bitch or a caring loving person? I'm kinda liking the total bitch idea but the caring person seems more mature.
“Why are you calling me?” I said, adding some shampoo so my bath can have some bubbles.
I start to sit up so I don't totally drop my phone in the water.
“Just because we broke up doesn't mean we have to hate each other, Mary,” he said. I guess he has a point but he's a total ass. He asks to be friends with benefits with him which is a big insult to me because I would never to do that.
“I know Caleb but your a total pervert. I don't even think you really cared about our relationship,” I said, closing my eyes.
He sighs heavily into the phone and I'm laying here waiting for his response. He probably had to think about what to say next which is funny because I didn't think that Caleb had a brain.
“Babe, that's not true. I really did care and now I realized I was stupid for everything. I'm sorry,” he apologizes.
“First of all, I'm not your babe or baby anymore. Second of all, even if you are being serious I don't see how I can trust you,” I said, pulling the plunger thing out of the tub and wrap my towel around me.
“I know what you mean. Can we at least keep in touch?” he sounds so cute.
“Sure but one perverted move and I'm kicking your ass,” I joked.
I hang up and got to the refrigerator to find some peanut brittle wrapped in a plastic bag. It's really hard to chew on but I'm starving enough for my teeth to fall out. I start to choke on a little tiny piece of peanut from admiring how good it was. I push myself onto the counter to eat the little piece of peanut brittle.
“Mary, we eat on that,” my mom scold me. Technically we eat on the other side of it and this is where you cook and cut your food. “What do you want for dinner?”
“It doesn't matter. I'm going to bed anyway,” I said, getting up to throw the plastic away. “Goodnight.”
I go up to my room and plop myself in my bed.
Roy began to text me as soon as I got comfortable and I answer him instantly.
Roy: Do you have plans Thursday?
Roy: How about we meet at the cafe on Thursday after school?
