Ashton woke up with a little girl cuddled up to him. He slowly got her off of him and went downstairs. He wanted her first morning to be special. This was probably her last good home she'd have.
He walked downstairs, his band mates were sitting on the couch, all except Mikey. He wouldn't be up for awhile, like always. That boy could sleep through anything. "Hey lads, so since it's Lexi's first morning here, I want it to be special," Ashton said approaching the boys.
"Okay, like what?"" Luke asked.
"Like, we could fix her a big breakfast," Ashton said.
"Yeah, by the way she felt last night, it was like she hadn't ate anything in days," Calum said walking into the kitchen with them.
"Oh yeah I forgot to ask, what happened last night?" Luke asked starting the breakfast.
"Well Lexi had a bad dream and she had a breakdown, and Calum had to comfort her," Ashton said.
"Why didn't you get me?" Luke asked, a little disappointed Ashton didn't choose him.
"I grabbed my phone and texted the first person I saw," Ashton said putting the breakfast on the table.
"Good morning lads," Michael said walking downstairs only in sweatpants.
"Morning," they all said back.
"Where's the kid?" He asked getting a drink from the fridge.
"She has a name and she's still asleep," Ashton said. Just as the boys finished Lexi's breakfast, she walked downstairs.
"Good morning," Luke said excitedly, like always. She waved slightly and sat on the couch. She pulled her knees to her chest and buried her face in her knees.
"Hey, what's up?" Ashton asked sitting next to her. She shook her head and looked up. "Hungry?" She nodded and followed him to the kitchen. She looked at the plate with surprise. She sat down and started eating it.
"Do you like it?" Michael asked her. She looked up at him with a little bit of fear, but smiled.
"Yeah, thank you," she said smiling.
"She speaks!" Luke said tickling her side. "Let's play a game!"
"Like what?" Calum asked.
"I don't know hide and seek!" Luke insisted. Lexi started remembering the memories.
"Hey, you okay?" Calum ask her.
"What, oh um yeah," Lexi said.
"So how about a game of hide and seek?" Luke asked.
"Um... could we maybe play something else?" Lexi asked.
"Sure, what do you want to play?" Luke asked her with a kind smile.
"Truth or dare?" She asked.
"Let's play!" Calum said. They sat in the living room in the floor.
"Lexi you go first," Ashton said.
"Uh okay, Luke, truth or dare?"
"Dare!" He exclaimed.
"Um... I dare you to do a hand stand for 20 seconds."
"That's easy," he did the dare and the game continued for about 2 hours. Mikey glanced at Lexi, giving her a mean look. She scooted closer to Ashton, starting to tear up.
"Hey, you okay?" Ashton asked her.
"I-I-I have-" before she could finish, she ran upstairs. She locked herself in the hall closet.
"Where did she go?" Michael asked looking in their bedrooms.
"I don't know, Lexi!" Calum yelled. She didn't say anything. She just stayed in the closet.
"Where would an 8 year old hide?" Michael said.
"She's 11!" Ashton yelled. "Lexi love, please come out where ever you are!" She let out a little cry. She didn't mean to, she quickly covered her mouth.
"Did you guys just hear that'd?" Luke asked.
"Yeah it sounded like it came from the closet." Michael said.
"Lexi?" Ashton walked over to the closet door and slightly knocked. He opened the door, she curled in a little ball. "Hey, come out," he said softly. She shook her head. Ashton crouched down to her. "What's wrong?" She let out a little cry and started to run. Michael stopped her before she could get far.
"Let me go!" She screamed.
"Not until you tell us what's wrong," he said picking her up, and taking her into the kitchen. He sat her on the counter.
"Why not?" He asked her.
"You said not to tell! You said it'd be worse!" Michael looked at Ashton. Ashton stood in front of Lexi.
"Did Mikey hurt you?" He asked her, she just nodded in response. "He won't hurt you anymore."
"Don't tell me that! Chris said that too!" She quickly covered her mouth. The boys looked at each other.
"Who's Chris?" Ashton asked.
"Nobody," she said.
"Doesn't sound like nobody," Ashton said. Tears started streaming down the little girl's face.
"Why can't you tell us?" Luke asked her.
"Because I know what will happen."
"What will happen?" Luke said.
"I'll tell you something then you'll throw me on the street." The girl pulled her knees to her chest and put her face in her knees.
"Hey, don't say that, we would never do that," Ashton said.
"You're just saying that. Almost every home I've been in said stuff like that."
"Okay, but now we're saying it but we mean it." He picked her up and took her into the living room.
"Let's watch Netflix!" Luke insisted.
She cuddled up to Ashton. They watched a movie. They fell asleep half way through.
"A-Ashton," Lexi whispered shaking him a little, trying to wake him up. "Ashton." He eventually woke up.
"What is it love?" He asked the small 11 year old, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
"Goodnight." She kissed his nose. "I love you." She layed her head on his chest.
"I love you too." He kissed her forehead and layed his head on her head. "Don't forget that."
