9. ~Chapter Eight~
The knights were covered in their black armor and I was standing on the castles main balcony, staring at them all.
They were ready to fight--ready for a war--, but mostly, they were ready to bring me something that would change everything.
Winter Snow White.
Nomatter where she was hidden, she was as good as dead.
The girls heart would be mine one way or another and if I had to find her myself, it would happen!
Demetri had tricked me and the mirror said nothing I wanted to hear.
I was still in the same situation as I was the day she had fled.
Although, that was about to change.
I'd had enough games and tricks to last me a lifetime, and I intended on making them pay for what they had done.
So, I thought of positive things.... Winter's heart in a box and I, the fairest in all the land.
No one would take it from me and I would let no one dare to try.
The head knight came up beside me.
"My queen, we are ready." He said and I continued to look straight ahead.
"Very well...Bring me Snow White." I said and he nodded, walking off.
Soon she would be found and soon things would change.
The girl might be of royal blood, but I, soon, would be the best of the best...And I was happy about that.
* * * * *
No one was awake, and I had managed to escape Demetri's arms without waking him.
I had made my way to the kitchen and began to work on breakfast.
My mother loved to cook, and often she prepared meals for my father and I.
She had taught me at a very young age, but when she died, the maids taught me more.
Of course, when my father died, Claudia forced me to work in the kitchen.
I was always happy to help, but at that age, I never really realized that she was actually making me work rather than wanting me to learn.
I started by fixing some eggs. Then I found some bacon and cooked it as well.
I was done, but just standing next to the stove when I felt a pair of arms wrap around my stomach.
I jumped a little because I didn't hear Demetri enter the room.
He kissed my neck softly one and it was only then, when he rested his head on my shoulder, that I felt he didn't have a shirt on.
"What are you up to?" He asked raspily, his morning voice was very cute.
"I'm making breakfast." I say, resting my hands on top of his hands.
I could feel him smile against my neck. "Snow---"
"I wanted to Demetri." I say turning to face him.
I was, of course, right. He didn't have a shirt on, and his hair was messed up as well.
"I wanted to do something that would show how much I was thankful for the kindness you've all shown me." I say.
He smiles, pulling me close. "You are so kind..." He says resting his head against mine.
"I love that about you. You have a heart of gold and rarely do people have hearts of gold these days."
Blushing at his comment, I quickly look away, but he makes me look at him again.
"Don't be embarrassed. You should be very happy." He says as he looks into my eyes.
"I am happy....I just never get compliments like that all the time." I say smiling.
He nods. "That will change, trust me."
"Demetri I---" I try, but of course, he stops me.
"Nope." He says smiling. "Not another word."
I smile, rolling my eyes as he chuckles.
His mother comes into he room and we all sit down to eat.
Smiling, I hold Demetri's hand underneath the table and he holds mine.
