Double Hemmings

Adam Lancaster is your typical nerd but without the real typical nerd look. He's good in school, almost only getting straight A's, and he is what you could define as slightly attractive. It all seems great, right? Well, you thought wrong. Nothing is great about Adams current life. Three months ago it was completely fine. It was exactly how Adam had wished it would be. But a couple of months ago something changed. He couldn't seem to figure out what was going on. Not until one day a couple of girls gathered up the courage to finally speak to him. It wasn't until after that, that things really started to finally make sense to him. But is it a good thing, or a bad thing?

-Adam Lancaster-

Normally being made fun of doesn't bother me that much, but doing something like that just makes me sick in my stomach.

"Wait! We're serious!" One of them yelled after me. I smiled humourless and turned around to face them.

"Are you thinking this is funny? Does it make you happy to make fun of me, and embarrass me in from of the student body?" I asked. I can't explain why I'm reacting like this. Normally I would just walk away from it without saying anything, and then cry in my room late at night. That's just my way of coping with things. So this feeling is quite foreign for me. The brunette that yelled after me looked at me in shock and feverishly shook her little head.

"No! Of course not! I'm so sorry, Luke, I-I didn't mean it like that!" She stuttered, tripping over her own words. I froze immediately.

"What did your just call me?" I asked in disbelief. Did she seriously just call me Luke..? I don't even know a Luke. Her eyes widen as she took in her mistake.

"So you're really not him? So-so.. I-I.." She trailed off searching for help from her friends.

"What's your name anyway then?" One of the red heads asked me with furrowed eyebrows. I shook my head and sighed a little.

"Adam. Adam Lancaster," I answered and turned to finally walk to class.

Later that afternoon my phone started blowing up. I furrowed my eyebrows and looked up from my homework. I picked up my phone and checked the multiply notifications from Twitter itself. I never use Twitter, it's really not my think, but clearly some people do. Including the three girls at my school.

"@/kimmygurl mentioned you in a tweet."

It was the first tweet which was tweeted two hours ago, though I didn't bother checking it there. Suddenly I wish I had.

"@/AdamLancaster tots look like @/luke5sos ! They could be twins !"

I clicked on the other account she had tagged and immediately got up from my bed, my books flying everywhere.

"What?" I said out loud as I stared at the accounts picture. A boy my age with a guitar on what seemed to be a stage. But the thing really sticking out was the fact that he really does look like me. Or, well, a lot more attractive then me you could say. But the face was the same, the hair color, the lean broad figure, and when I looked through other photos, the eyes.

I looked more closely on his account and discovered that he is in that band '5 Seconds of Summer'. I think I heard one of their songs the other day. It's catchy. I think it was something about underwear..

I checked through the tweets I was receiving and the amount of followers I was suddenly getting. I went from around three-hundred to thirteen-hundred in a matter of hours.

Most of the tweets were for this Luke guy to notice me, but I quickly went further along. They were really all just about '5 Seconds of Summer'. I don't even know who they are, I've never heard of them before. But obviously most of the girls at my school does, for some reason.

I'm really dreading going to school tomorrow.
