The next day, I ran to the woods and walked over to the waterfall. Violet was sitting by the edge. I ran over to her and jumped in the water.
"Hey!" She giggled.
"The water is warm!" I laughed.
"You have to be out of your mind." She smirked.
"I was never in my mind." I said.
She laughed and looked at the water.
"Jump in." I smiled.
She stood up and I could tell she was nervous.
"Come on, you'll be fine. Do you want me to catch you?" I asked.
She nodded and backed up.
She ran and jumped. I caught her in my arms and she laughed.
"See?" I asked.
"This is amazing!" She said and swam around.
Later, we got out of the water.
"Oh shit." She said covered herself with her arms.
"I'm wearing a white shirt." She said.
I put my jacket on her.
"No problem." I smiled and we sat down next to the water.
I could see the smile leave her face slowly.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"You know, you can trust me." I said.
She looked at me.
"I just miss Tyler." She sighed.
"Is that your ex?" I asked.
A tear fell from her eye.
I lifted her head up and wiped her eyes.
"He must be an idiot to let you go."
"What if I don't find anybody else?" She asked.
"It's a big, big world out there, and you're amazing. You'll find someone perfect for you." I said.
"Thank you." She smiled.
I smiled, "No problem."
A few days later, A text popped up on my phone.
I smiled and texted back, 'Congratulations!'
I walked into the kitchen and poured some coffee.
Eli walked in and looked at me.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?"
"I can tell." He said.
"I'm fine. Just tired is all."
"Okay..." He said and left the kitchen.
I put on my jacket and walked to the woods.
I saw Violet and a guy holding hands.
I sighed and walked back home.
"That was a short trip." Eli said.
"Well, it was cold."
"Tell me what's wrong."
"Eli, I'm fine."
"Is it that your crush got a boyfriend?" He asked.
"First of all, stay out of my phone. Second of all, she's not my crush. We're just friends."
"Leo, you're like my brother. I can tell when you're lying."
"Violet and I are just friends." I said.
"If you keep denying your feelings for her, you're going to regret it, Leo. What if she gets married? What if she gets pregnant? I can tell you have feelings for her."
"I'm fine." I said and went to my room.
I laid on my bed and picked up a book.
Shortly, the female seal will mate and the generation will continue on.
I threw the book across the room and stuffed my face into my pillow.
Eli walked in.
"Are you okay?"
"SHE'S MY SEAL!" I shouted and ran out of my door.
"What seal? What's happening?" He asked as I grabbed my jacket.
I ran outside and to the woods.
I picked a flower and when I was going to the pond I saw Violet and her boyfriend smiling and laughing. They looked so happy together. I dropped the flower and walked home.
"Where were you?" Eli asked.
"I was going to talk to Violet but she was with her boyfriend and they looked so happy. Who was I kidding?" I asked and plopped on the couch.
"I knew you had feelings."
"Even if I do, it doesn't matter. She's happy and that's all I'd ever want." I sighed.
My phone rang. It was Violet.
"Hey, want to come meet my boyfriend? We can swim, too."
"I'll be there shortly." I said and hung up.
I sighed and put my phone in my pocket.
"Well, I'm off to be a third wheel." I said and went to the door.
"Are you sure you'll be okay?"
I nodded and walked out the front door.
When I got there, they walked over to me. Violet's boyfriend had spiky blonde hair and green eyes. He was wearing jeans and a T shirt.
"Hi, you must be Leo. I'm Charlie." He smiled and shook my hand.
"Hi. Nice to meet you." I smiled.
"So how did you and Violet meet?" I asked.
"Roller skating. She's an amazing skater. We're both in the pro class."
"Hey, we should all go skating." Charlie smiled.
"Sure." I said and faked a smile.
"Is that okay with you, babe?" Charlie asked Violet.
"Sure!" She smiled and we all walked there.
They held hands the whole way there and it took all the strength in my body to keep the tears in.
They held hands and started skating. I stared at them.
I got my skates on and stumbled over to them.
"Do you need help, there?" Charlie asked.
"No." I said.
"Now, time for turbo skating! Everyone speed up!" The man controlling the music said.
They started skating amazingly fast.
I took a deep breath and tried skating quickly to them.
I tripped and hit the wall.
"See? He's not the only one that can skate, Violet! Still think he's the best?" I growled as I sat on the floor.
Violet gasped and ran out.
Charlie walked over to me.
"Why are you such a jerk?! And you call that skating? That was horrible!"
"I can't believe you'd embarrass her like that." Charlie interrupted and went after Violet.
I sighed and took my skates off. I returned them and walked home with tears in my eyes.
I sat on my bed and stared at the wall when I got home.
"Are you okay?" Eli asked.
"I can't believe I did that." I growled and threw my shoes at the wall.
