Creators Camp

How does a summer camp with your internet best friend and favourite YouTuber sound? What about having your whole past written in direct messages to that YouTuber with an abandoned Twitter account? What about having a past that could tear you away from the life you dream of living? It doesn't seem so easy anymore, does it?

11. Part 10.

The scenery seemed to just flash before my eyes as the silent bus ride started to make me impatient.

I turned to Carrie and faked a yawn, she nodded in agreement and looked around at our surroundings.

Everyone seemed to be doing the same thing, staring out at the boring scenery.

"Someone should just start singing." Carrie whispered.

"Chillin' on the west side playing my song, got the kia soul with my cheap shades on..."

"Gonna run right through the night." Connor joined in and gave me a smile through the rear view mirror.

Wait a minute... no way. No way did he just give me a genuine smile. Maybe things are looking up in the world?

"Jump off the gate, fall to the ground. It don't matter still hittin' this town oh it never felt so right."

Carrie was trying not to laugh at the impromptu sing along I'd started.

"Tonight we're runnin' round the boulevard, I couldn't no- I couldn't ask for more..."

It was still only Connor and I singing, I nudged Carrie to join in.

"So sick and tired of staying up to see the break of dawn, everybody's taking shots 'till they're passed out on the lawn. Broken hearts and Styrofoam and empty doubled cups, I guess I'm ordinary..." Carrie finally joined in with a smile on her face.

"Cause I don't give a what!" Everyone joined in on the last line as flew down the highway and jammed out to Ricky Dillon.

That's how to know you're living life right.

"Okay girls we're almost there, everyone meet back at the front entrance in 2 hours and you two..." He looked directly at me and Carrie through the rear view mirror, "Aren't to leave my side understood?"

We both just nodded without a word, there's no point arguing with him anymore, he always seems to win anyway.

He pulled into a parking garage and found a spot near one of the entrances to the mall.

"Lets go!" He screamed happily as we all piled out of the car.

Everyone went their own way while Me and Carrie trailed behind Connor not saying a word.

The awkward tension between us right now is un bearable.

I can tell we're still a complete pain in the rear end for him but to be honest if we're that irritating why does he make us stick by his side all the time?

Surely if we annoyed him that much he'd avoid us any time he could?

"Why is it he always makes us stay with him if we annoy him?" I whispered to Carrie.

She shrugged.

"And why does he insist on treating us like toddlers?"

"All good questions that we don't have the answer too. Does he even know our names?"

I shrugged; "I don't know ask him."

"Oh yeah 'hey Connor what's my name I seem to have forgotten!' I don't think so Ella."

"Hey Connor?" I asked.

"Hey Ella?" He smirked turning back to me.

I went silent and looked at Carrie hinting for some help on finding a comeback.

"Yes girls I do know your names, maybe whisper quieter next time." He whispered the last bit in an attempt to mock us.

I hereby declare Connor Franta as a grade A pain in my rear end also!
