9 years later...
I sighed in relief as I kicked of my shoes and pushed them to the side. Soft footsteps creaked against the wooden stairs as my husband appeared with a small blue towel in his shoulder.
"Hey..." I smiled while approaching him. I wrapped my arms around him and kissed him softly, "How are you?"
"Tired. He didn't want to sleep at all yet. He's still awake."
His pout and his puppy eyes made him irresistible, it was my weakness and I found that out during the early weeks of dating him. Those eyes that I grew to love more each day showed how tired he looked.
I let my lips smash against his soft ones, to show him how much I love him and how much of a great man he is.
I forced myself to pull away, "Go rest baby. I'll take care of Tristan."
"I love you." He said with a loopy smile.
"I love you too."
I went up the stairs and into our baby's room. There, was the baby that we loved but took the living daylight out of us. He had his dad's eyes, which I danced with happiness when I found out he did.
"Hey honey!" I cooed at him.
His nose crinkled up along with the sides of his eyes, he began to giggle.
"Mommy is home! Yay! What is that on your back? Are you playing with paper again?" I pulled the pink paper from behind him and checked it in case it was something important.
You make me live my teenage dream.
"You do. Even as we get older, I want you to stay the same. Please don't ever chance baby."
His arms wrapped around my waist, leaving sweet kisses along my neck.
"I'll never change babe, I'll always be with you, no matter what. Promise me the same." He said as I looked at him through tears, while now looking directly at him.
"I promise, Luke." With that I kissed the man who I would be spending my whole life with, happily.
