2. The Second Day
Today has been far less busy than I had expected. That is a good thing. Breaks are always appreciated:
4. Hot Water.
Our boilers broke and that means that taking a shower isn’t as easy as one would think. The basic thing of keeping clean, now takes 40 minutes of boiling kettles and pans to get enough hot water to fill a bath, and washing your hair takes a kettle and a bucket of cold water. Hot water is a god send compared to cold water. Losing it just makes me be more grateful a hell of a lot more than I was once. Not everybody has this luxury.
5. Bank Holidays.
Monday is proven to the worst day of the week for most of the population. I’m in that majority. So the fact that it’s Bank Holiday makes me not have the Monday Blues trudging to school at 8 ‘o’clock in the morning. I was still in bed that time this morning. I love the extra rest because honestly I need an eighth day of the week.
6. My Mum.
I’m always grateful for the relationship that I have with my Mum. But today that was emphasised by how much she faths on with me. She makes an effort to ask if she can dry my hair and pamper me, not only for my best interests but for her. I think she doesn’t want her last chick to fly from the nest so to speak and I love her for that. I love her for her attentions and love for me.
I may not always have the time for her when I grow up, but I’m always grateful for her. I won’t forget that.
