A Large Amount of Gratitude (3 Good Things)

So I’d like to share a ever growing list of fundamental things that I feel grateful for. I usually only reflect on one or a few of these things when I need to but I thought a list like this one could be helpful both for you and for me. And maybe not every item on this list works in your life, then take what works from here and create and add to put together your own list.

1. The First Day

Some days are great. You get everything done that you need to do and you end the day with a satisfied smile as you rest up and prepare for the next.

But then there are the other days.

Where all of your plans go out of the window and you honestly just want to go back to sleep and start it all over again. But you can’t and that makes it all the more worst.

Maybe, one of the best scientific ways to turn this feeling around, is to focus on points of gratitude:

1. Hugs.

Hugs are proven to lower stress hormones and cause a surge of dopamine. This makes life so much happier and supported. A hug from a loved one, a one that is tight and lasts for minutes, is a cure for any woe in the day and a pick me up better than chocolate – which is a hard feat indeed!

Maybe instead, of an apple a day to keep the doctors away, it should be a hug a day.

That would be awesome!

2. A warm home.

Here in Britain we see some freak weather, from sunshine, to rain, to snow all within a half in hour period. Having a warm house takes that spring chill away, and reading a book in front of a fire is so satisfying.

Few things feel better than to reflect upon a warm house when it’s pouring rain outside and chilly, many ideas have been forged out of these days.

3. I am alive.

If I had been born in another time or another place then there is a big chance that I may not have survived to my latest birthday.

That element of chance means that I am here. Right at this moment. I have this hour and this day and hopefully many more days still to experience and to live my life.

That is an amazing thing.
