The next day, I wake up to Escara shaking me.
"Feather, we've got to get you up!" She says happily. "You've got a big night tonight!"
I groan and try to cling to my bed, but she's actually pretty strong and so, I'm pulled out of bed by force.
Although, when she tries to make me stand up, she struggles a little.
Then a familiar voice enters my room.
"Let me help." I hear Finnick say to Escara.
"As long as you can have her out in the elevator in five minutes, you can do whatever you want!" She says leaving the room.
I keep my eyes closed, but I can tell that he's smirking.
"That sounds like a tempting offer." He says and my eyes shoot open.
His smirk is evident on his face as his eyes gaze into mine.
"As long as I have you out in the elevator in five minutes, I can do whatever I want." He smirks.
My eyes widen and he laughs.
"You are very tempting though, Sleeping Beauty." He says winking.
I blush a little bit and he pulls me up, into him.
He smiles at me. "Brush your hair, and your teeth, put some different clothes on, you have five minutes." He says brushing a stay strand of my hair back behind my ear.
He then releases me and I go into the bathroom.
When I come back out, dressed and all, he smiles.
"With a minute to spare." He says smiling as he takes my hand, leading me out to the elevator.
Mags watches us as he leads me into the elevator where Escara is waiting.
"Now, be a good girl for your stylist." Finnick says and I smile rolling my eyes.
Escara smile at us both and as the elevaor doors begin to close, she looks at me.
"Man, he's really got it for you, doesn't he?" She says and I bite my lips, blushing.
I'm taken back to the hospital looking room that I was in the other day.
Escara smiles at me. "Tonight you are going to be water."
I look at her quite confused. "I'm sorry?"
"The dress you're wearing, you're going to be water." She says smiling.
Oh great, now we're getting into the fishy stuff.
"Young lady, I'll dress you up as a fish if you don't look more excited." She warns.
"Is that the next outfit I wear? A fish?" I ask.
She laughs. "Nope, never."
She and the team set to work on my hair and makeup.
I don't get to see it until they're completely finished though and after I put on my dress, Escara leads me to a full length body mirror.
My eyes instantly widen at my appearance.
The dress, a medium light shade of blue, clung to my body until the top met the skirt.
Then, the skirt flowed freely, cascading down me and making the lighter blue chiffon almost look like I was actually wearing water.
It was sleeveless, but so beautiful.
Then I noticed my hair.
My hair was in a elegant braid and little white starfish looking accessories were placed neatly it in.
I asl seen a little bit of thin fish netting in there too!
As for my make-up, the same color blue as my dress covered my eyelids and black eyeliner topped it all off.
My lips were naturally brought out in a nude-ish color and around my neck, was a starfish necklace.
I took a deep breath as I studied my stunning reflection.
"Escara, this is...Enchanting!" I say looking over at her.
Her smile widens. "I knew you'd love it!"
"Thank you so much!" I say.
"Aha, but don't thank me yet." She says. "Spin around."
Confused but yet curious, I spin slowly at first, then I notice it.
at the very bottom of the skirt, it looks as if real water were flowing around it, spinning and splashing.
It was incredible.
As I stopped I looked up at her.
"Fantastic!" She said and hugged me. "Now, go knock Caesar Flickerman's head off!"
"Escara!" I said frowning.
"Not literally!" She says holding her hands up as I laugh.
Again, we met up at the stage entrance to the show.
The after party was something Finnick had talked about and I wasn't sure if I even wanted to appear, but all of the tributes seemed to be talking about going.
As Finnick and Mags approached with Caleb, Mags and Finnick's eyes widened.
Mags came p to me smiling wider than usual.
She pointed to my dress and then smiled up at me.
"Thank you." I say, knowing that she was trying to tell me that I was beautiful.
She then pointed at Finnick, who just stood there staring, then she brought her fingers up to her mouth, slowly bringing them away from it.
She was making the sign that represented talking.
Then, she brought her fingers up drawing an X over her mouth.
I knew what she was saying, I'd been around long enough to know her little signs.
"Yes, I can see that he's speechless." I say smiling.
She smiles and then starts to talk with Escara in her own little sign language.
I look over at FInnick and Caleb, who are both now standing there, looking at me as if I was the prettiest painting on the planet.
"Stop doing that!" I say looking away. "You're making me nervous."
Finnick smiled and walked over to me. "You, look...."
I waited for him to say something as I looked into his eyes.
"Magical." He finally said.
I blushed and he kissed my cheek softly.
Caleb looked at me, still stunned. "You are going to blow them all away." He said smiling at me.
My eyes widened this time. It was the first time he had actually said something nice to me.
"T-Thank you." I say still stunned by his comment.
As tributes started going out and then heading off to the after party, we stood there, waiting for district four to be called.
Soon, my time was up and I walked out onto the stage.
"Will you all give it up for this amazing young lady, ladies and gentlmen, Feather Albany." Caesar Flickerman said as the crowd went crazier than ever.
I caught a few glares from the other tributes as I made my way onto the stage.
Caesar smiled at me and hugged me quickly, then we both sat down.
"Feather, I hope you're doing well tonight." He says smiling at me.
"As well as I can be, thank you." I say smiling back for show.
"You look absolutely stunning!" He says.
"Thank you! My stylist, Escara did an incredible job on my outfit tonight." I say.
"Kind, considerate and always thinking of others..." He says. "Feather, how did you feel when you're name was called?"
"I was actually quite stunned. Frozen, I guess you could say...But then again, I was relieved." I say.
"Relieved? There's a first." He says smiling. "How were you relieved?"
"Well, there are so many young children that are put in this position ever year...Many good friends of mine...But even people my age are still put in this dreadful position, always hoping that it's not them." I say. "My friend Adeline, who's twelve, entered her first reaping this year. If her name would've been called, I would've volunteered for her without a doubt."
"Would you do that for all of the children?" He asks.
"Unless they are cruel and boast about how they can win the games, then I would let the child go ahead and see what was waiting for them."
"Smart answer." He says.
"I would volunteer for all of my friends, I would never wnat to see them hurt." I say.
He smiles nodding. "You're very sweet Feather."
He then looks at my outfit. "So, what is this outfit called?"
"Water." I say smiling.
He chuckles a bit. "It does actually look like water." He says. "The other day you were shooting lasers and now, you're wearing water."
"Literally, I'm wearing water." I say smiling.
"Really? Would you care to show us?" He asks.
"Um, sure." I say.
Standing up, I take one step out in front of my chair and then I start spinning.
As soon as the water begins, the crowd goes insane!
After a few minutes, I stop.
He smiles at me. "Well, I hope that you win the games and make it back to your friends."
"Thank you for that." I say.
He stands up and smiles. "Feather Albany, District Four!" He says as the crowd screams for the last time.
I head back, backstage and meet up with Finnick and Mags, apparently Caleb already went on.
As we watched Caleb's interview, I studied him closely, he had that stupid grin on his face and I knew that he was up to something.
Afterwards, we all went off to the after party, which was quite crowded.
Tributes were talking with possible sponsers and we were all walking around, looking at stuff.
Finnick had even tried to get me to dance.
I smiled at him as he waited for my answer.
"I can't dance." I say.
"Then let me teach you." He says smiling.
I bite my lip. "Finnick..." I say, doubt in my voice.
He smiles. "You can stand on my feet."
"I'm not exactly light." I say.
He smiles, shaking his head. "Feather, you don't weigh that much, especially not to me."
"I'm still not sure." I say.
He leads me out onto the dance floor and pikc me up, placing me on his feet.
Then, he holds my waist and takes one of my hands, slowly moving to the music.
"Might as well dance and have fun before you go into the arena." He says.
I look into his eyes. "I don't see what you see in me."
"I see a beautiful, loyal, kind, caring, sweet, intelligent young lady." He says.
I avoid his gaze quickly, then meet his eyes. "Why did you never tell me? You know, before now?" I ask.
He smiles looking up. "Well, I was going to tell you if you weren't pronounced as the female tribute."
I pay close attention to him. "But, I guess the odds weren't in my favor."
I laugh at his words. "Are the odds ever in our favor?"
He chuckles. "Well...."
"Finnick, if I don't make it back---"
"Don't talk like that." He says looking at me ."Be happy."
"But if I don't, then please find someone else." I say. "I don't want to leave you brokenhearted."
"If you die then I will always be brokenhearted." He says.
My eyes look into his as we continues to dance.
"But Finnick, please, at least try to find someone else." I say.
He sighs. "I won't ever find anyone like you."
"But you can try." I say with a smile.
He kisses my forehead.
"Finnick, others are watching us." I say looking around nervously.
"Let them watch," He says smiling. "It's not wrong for a young victor like me to fall for a tribute."
I blush a little.
"Actually, the capitol has been wondering if I'll ever find someone." He says. "I think that they might actually be happy if they found out that I loved you."
Blushing even more, we continue to dance and I lay my head on his shoulder.
The night continues on and I begin to get tired.
When Finnick notices this, he takes me back, while the others stay for a little while longer.
