2. The Start of Something New
I peddle on my bike to the nearest town of Rockland, Maine and try to locate a nice place to eat. I literally stumble upon this nice restaurant called the Brass Compass. Its a small building with a compass on it's sign and a big banner on the front of the building that reads "Home of chef Lynn Archer who beat Bobbie Flay in a cook off." Hmm this could be a good place but I have no idea who Bobbie Flay is I think to myself. I walk in to the restaurant and am shocked by the amount of people in the place. Every table is full plus some people waiting. I look around the room at all the art and photos that are hanging on the wall when suddenly my world stops... My 19 year old self wants to melt into oblivion as this charming dark haired green eyed man looks at me. My heart stops, my hairs stand on end and I want to crawl under a rock. My normal self in mermaid form would have swam right up to him and talked to him but as a human we aren't supposed to talk to humans unless its necessary. This is a necessary situation I mean hes gorgeous I say to myself. As I stare into the eyes of the mystery man I am vaguely aware of the woman trying to get my attention. "Yes I'm sorry I was day dreaming, just one please." I say quickly snapping back to reality. I can't talk to him what was I thinking I will be banished from my kingdom and my tail will get taken away. I sit down then order a root beer from the nice elderly lady serving me her name is Mary Lou. After I get my drink I order the Crispy Chicken Wrap without the tomatoes and the whole time I sit there I can feel the green eyed man staring at me. Every ounce of my being is telling me to turn around go up to him and start talking but I can't bring myself to do it. After I finish the amazing food I take the human money out of my purse and give the correct amount plus a tip then head out the door. I quickly glance in the direction of where the green eyed man was sitting and to my dismay he is gone. With a bit of a pout I walk out of the restaurant to find the green eyed man sitting next to the restaurant waiting for me.
