Los Angeles—the city where all of your dreams come true. Rosie Jones couldn’t have imagined a life better than the one she’s currently living. She had just moved into a new apartment and meets a guy from across the hall, who has a secret of his own. Everyone warned her about him, but she didn’t listen. What happens when all of your dreams comes crashing down?

12. Eleven

I have been living with Zayn for a time now. I was simply enjoying the time we were having together. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. We had gone to Europe like he promised. Being with Zayn just made every dream I’ve ever had come true, except for one.

Eventually I told him about what had happened to my dad and the situation with Rebecca. Zayn had asked me why I didn’t decide to stay in Virginia. I told him that Rebecca needed a place to stay, so I’m allowing her to stay in the house my dad gave to me. Louis had sent us an invitation.

It was for his upcoming birthday party. This was one of the first events Zayn and I had ever gone out together. Mostly, we’d try to keep people from seeing us together. I was just finishing up doing my hair. “Mmm, seeing you in that dress only makes me want to take it off.” Zayn smirked when he entered the bathroom.

I rolled my eyes and smiled. I walked up to him and wrapped my arms around his neck. “I’ll let you take it off after the party.” I smirked. He pressed his lips against mine. His hand rand up underneath my dress. I leaned against the bathroom counter when his hand slipped underneath my panties.

I reached down and unbuttoned his pants. I took out his member and stroked him. “I just want a small taste.” He kissed my lips against and bit it gently. He pulled my panties down and tossed them off to the side. He sat me on the counter and slid inside. He started going slow, teasing me. A moan escaped my lips. “Zayn..” I said breathlessly.

“Mmm… babe you have no idea how much I’ve missed how good you feel around me.” said he. I wrapped my legs around him as he kept going. He did enough and pulled out, leaving me wanting more. He zipped his pants. I got off the counter and pulled my dress down. I was about to pick up my panties, but he told me to leave them.

He eyed me playfully. I rolled my eyes and finished up getting ready for the party. We headed out to the car and got in. While on the drive to Louis’ party, Zayn reached over with his hand and slipped a finger between my legs. “Can’t keep your hands off me?” I asked him jokingly. Zayn chuckled lightly, teasing me with his finger.

Eventually we arrived at the venue. Now I was more turned on. Zayn stepped out of the car and went around to open the door. I thanked him. We headed inside the hotel and walked to the ballroom. Louis greeted the two of us with a hug. A woman was with him. Louis introduced us to the woman. Her name was Eleanor Calder.

She was beautiful. She had medium brown hair and hazel eyes. “You two are together?” asked Louis. “Zayn never tells me anything about his relationships.”

“Is that so?” I glanced over at Zayn’s direction. Zayn’s hand never left my waist. He kept me close to him, almost defensive. He often kept his grip on my waist when I was around Harry as well. I found it odd. He had no reason to be jealous of Harry. I had dated Harry long ago in high school. Harry is still with Jade. There’s no way I’m going to be with Harry any time soon.

Even if he and I were both single, Harry and I were always going to remain good friends. “Mind if I steal your girlfriend?” Eleanor asked Zayn. I gave Zayn a look to reassure him that I was going to be okay. He reluctantly let go. I walked away with Eleanor. We were still in the watching eyes of our dates. “Louis has told me so much about Zayn. I just want to know if they’re true.” said she.

“I’m sure what you’ve heard are true. Though, he’s changed a bit since we started dating.”

“He’s definitely protective of you. You ever wonder why he’s like that?”

I shook my head and said, “I noticed that’s how he is around Louis and my friend, Harry. I don’t know why. I haven’t really bothered to ask him about why he’s that way.”

“From what Lou says about you, I think you’re good for Zayn. His last relationship with a close friend of mine was a rough one. I honestly thought he’d never come back from that. Of course, it was way back in high school. Zayn wasn’t the same after that.” I nodded and briefly glanced at Zayn.

He was in some serious conversation with Louis. I thought about Zayn being a nice guy after having a bad reputation of being the kind of man he is. Either way, it wouldn’t change how I felt about him. We walked back over to the boys who had immediately ended the conversation.

“Rosie, a word?” asked Louis. He led me away from Zayn and Eleanor. When am I going to get some alone time with Zayn? I thought about what we did earlier at home and in the car. I had almost forgotten that I wasn’t wearing any panties. Louis and I were outside the ballroom in the lounging area. “Louis, you ever notice how defensive Zayn gets when he’s around you.” I said.

“His ex broke up with him. It wasn’t a pretty breakup. El told me. I’m sure he’s thinking that you might do the same, or I might steal you away.”

“You have a girlfriend.” I assumed that she was his girlfriend.

“She’s a friend I asked to take to the party with. I didn’t want to go alone. Originally, I wanted to ask you but you’re dating Zayn.” Louis liked me? Wait, of course he did. It was not a surprise to me. I remember when we first met. It’s almost like he has never seen a beautiful girl before.

I would’ve gone for Louis, but my heart was already swept away by Zayn Malik. “It’s good to see that you two are together. Zayn deserves a woman like you, not some blonde bitch who used him.” he added. Our conversation was over when Louis was called back into the ballroom. Finally I could be alone with Zayn.

For the rest of the night, the two of us hardly left each other’s side. Zayn had reserved us a room at the hotel. He didn’t have to, but it was considerate of him. We arrived at our hotel room for the night. He said we were staying here for two. I was about to tell him that we didn’t bring any bags, but when we entered the room, there they were. “You planned this, didn’t you?” I said once he closed the door.

“Downstairs in the ballroom was Lou’s moment. Right here and now, it’s ours.” Zayn leaned in and kissed my lips. I wrapped my arms around his neck to deepen the kiss. He pulled away and led me out to the balcony. I wondered what he was thinking in that head of his. We stood outside to look out at the beautiful view before us.

In all of my years of living here, I wouldn’t have imagined being here with Zayn. “I’m sure you’re curious as to why I brought you out here tonight.” said he. He wasn’t wrong about that. He held my hands in his. He looked nervous as if he wasn’t sure whether or not the right words were going to come out of his mouth. I caressed his hands gently to reassure him that it was okay. Honestly, I was more nervous than he was.

“You and I have known each other for a good while. In these past few years since I’ve met you, I have gotten to know the beautiful person you are inside and out. I haven’t met any woman like you. You stand out amongst all the rest. Honestly, I thought you’d never forgive me after everything I’ve done. I thought you’d move on to someone else. I was afraid you would. When I saw you after the incident with Cheryl, you looked so happy. I was miserable without you to be honest. From the day we met, I knew that you were different. I knew that I had to work at it to win your heart. I haven’t wanted a woman more than I’ve wanted you. You are the light that brightens up my days. Without you, I’m in complete darkness. I love you Rosie, and I’m willing to spend the rest of my life with you if you’d agree. So I’d have to ask you Miss Jones, will you marry me?”
