Down On Jackson Street

Nobody ever expected them to become friends, much less brothers.

19. The first morning

After the wedding, Amelia and I slow danced.

I could tell she was getting tired.

 "Are you tired?" I asked.

 "No." She yawned.

I smiled and picked her up.

The next morning, the sun was shining and I opened my eyes to see Amelia still sleeping. I laughed and cuddled her.

 "You stink." She laughed.

"Look who suddenly woke up." I smirked.

"You're lucky I love you." She giggled.

 I laughed.

"Does my stinky husband want breakfast?"

 "Yes please."

"Okay. I'll take a shower. Have a fun time cooking." She smirked and I smiled.

I walked into the kitchen and started cooking eggs.

My dad walked in a little later.

"Hey, what color should the eggs be?" I asked.
"Are you kidding me?" He said and walked over.

"Like, how dark should they be?"

 "Oh my gosh, Ki."

 "I'll start over." I laughed.

"I feel sorry for those eggs." Dad said and got some coffee.
"Okay, fuck it. Toast and coffee it is." I said and got some bread.

"Careful, don't burn the coffee." Dad smirked.

 "You mean don't burn myself."

"No, I mean don't burn the coffee."

 "That's almost impossible." I said.

"I thought the same about the eggs but yet, here we are."

 "Thanks. I feel motivated."

 "To do what?" Dad asked.

 "Burn your breakfast."

"Go ahead. I have to go to work. Just don't burn the building down. Like the eggs, it would be inedible."

"Wow thanks. I love you too Dad." I smirked.

 Dad left.

 "KI!" Amelia screamed.

"I'M COMING!" I shouted and ran into the bedroom.

"IN HERE!" She shouted from the bathroom.

 I ran inside.

"Hold on." I said and put some cold water on a washcloth.

 I dabbed her eyes.

 She smiled and kissed me.

"I'm such a pain in your ass." She laughed.

"Me too. You should've seen what I did with breakfast." I laughed.

"What will we name our baby?" Amelia asked, brushing her hair.

"Uh... Alex or Renee? Mason and Trinity are good names too."

 She stared at me.

"How long have you thought about this?" She laughed.

"I want to say the truth but I would sound like a weirdo." I laughed.

 She looked at me.

 "Tell me."

"Since the day we went on our first date."

"You are a weirdo. But you're mine so it's okay." She laughed.

 I laughed.

"Here let me do this." I said and brushed her hair as she brushed her teeth.

"Why are you so perfect?" She giggled.

"Because I'm Batman."

 She stared at me.

"Oops the secret is out." I laughed.

 "Well, you're my superman."

"You're my superwoman." I smiled and kissed her cheek.

After she got dressed we went into the kitchen.

"OH SHIT!" I said and ran towards the toaster.

"I'll cook breakfast. Thank you for trying." She smiled.

 I laughed and kissed her.

 "I'll do the laundry."

"Ki, sit your ass down. You did more running around this morning than I do in a day." She laughed.

 "But then I'll feel bad."

"You brushed my hair, tried to cook breakfast, and you wiped soap out of my eyes."

After breakfast, I closed the blinds and turned the TV on.

Amelia and I cuddled on the couch and watched a movie.

She had her back turned away from the TV and her arms were wrapped around my waist. I held her tight.

I stared at her and smiled.

"Why aren't you watching the movie?" She asked.

"You're more interesting than a movie."

 She smiled.

 "Why aren't you?"

"Who needs a movie when I have you?"

 I kissed her lips.
