Down On Jackson Street

Nobody ever expected them to become friends, much less brothers.

20. The End

The months go by, one by one. One day, we were lying on the couch and suddenly Amelia started breathing heavily.

 "Are you okay?" I asked.

"Ki..." She said and looked at me.
"Oh shit. Let's go." I said and carried her to the car.

In the hospital room, I held her hand tight.

 Tears fell from her eyes.

"What's wrong?" I asked and wiped away her tears.

 "I want pizza."

I laughed and kissed her cheek.

 "I'll make you some."

The hours passed by and then we heard the words, "It's a boy!"

They put the baby in Amelia's arm and I couldn't stop smiling at them.

I smiled and crouched next to her.

"Mason." Amelia said, smiling at the baby.

 I kissed Amelia.

When we got home, Amelia set Mason in his crib.

I wrapped my arm around her waist.

 We held each other.

Amelia & I weren't perfect; we fought, argued, and cried, but honestly, there is nobody else in the world I would rather be with. My brother motivated me to go after what made me happy, even if he did hit me with a shovel once. After everything that had happened, the only people I needed in my life were my brother, Amelia, and Mason. At the beginning, I thought Jay becoming my brother was the worst thing that could possibly happen, but strangely enough, it became the best.
