I woke up with the biggest hangover in my 17 year life. I know teen drinking isn't very good, but after everything that happened at the Salvatore house, I just wanted to forget. Lucky for me, it was a Saturday. I was just laying in bed, trying to get rid of the pounding pain in my head, when someone obnoxiously knocked on my door. Just great.
"Em- oh you don't look so great. Go look decent, Stefan Salvatore is in our living room." Eli said when I opened the door.
"What do you mean? Why is he here so early? Why is he even here?" I asked, nervously.
"Yea it's 1 in the afternoon. Hurry up I can't stall him for long, and I know he's your epic crush so I thought I'd warn you." he said, walking downstairs to the living room.
I quickly got ready and opened my bedroom door to go downstairs, but Stefan had already appeared in front of me.
"Okay don't do that. I'm still processing remember?" I said.
"Avoiding me won't change me Emma. I'm here to see how you're doing. But I'm guessing not so well." Stefan said, pointing to my hair.
"Shut up." I chuckled. "Stefan I've known you for 2 years. We've been through many parties, I've helped you get home when you were too drunk, you've held my hair when I was too drunk. I helped you pass Science and you helped me pass History. I know we're not best friends, but we're very close friends. And I believe in you, and I know you're a good guy. Being a vampire won't change that. But it's just hard to process that you kill people for food. I know it's necessary or you'd never do it, but that person could be someone else's best friend, someone else's sister, someone else's daughter. Maybe the girl you killed yesterday was someone's only family.. As much as I'd like to ignore it, I will never be able to."
"That's why I trust you with this, more than anyone else I've ever told. Because you are the most noble human I've met in my 200 years alive. Believe me, I've seen people of all colors, come and go." he stated, sitting down on my bed.
"You've been alive for 200 years? That's crazy.. You adapt with every new generation, learn new slang, make new friends, lose old ones. Stefan you're a strong guy. It's hard to move on so much, and live so much. You must be tired." I stated, still shocked that he was 200 years old.
"Only you would compliment a 200 year old blood-sucking monster." he said, smiling at me.
"Shh. Don't ruin the moment."
"Stefan.. you still are a 200 year old blood sucking monster."
"You ruined it. But I came here to tell you, that no I do not kill people. I have the choice to completely drain them out of blood, which kills them. Or I can drink from parts of their bodies, and put them back together." he stated.
"What do you mean? I thought you drank from the vein on our necks." I asked, confused as always.
"We can, but it's very slow and very aggravating when only drops of blood get in your hungry system. Most vampires, excuse what I'm about to say, rip their prey's body into pieces and drink every ounce of blood there is." he said, getting lost in the idea of blood.
"Uh.. I don't know what to say." I said, a bit disturbed.
"I'm sorry. I just thought I'd make it clear that we aren't all killers. I don't believe in the death of the innocent. I thought I'd let you know." he said, before heading for the door.
"Stefan wait!" I said, and he turned around. "Why are you really here? To make me believe vampires are not so bad?"
"I came here to tell you something I should've said a while ago. But you won't see me the same anyways, so I figured I'd just forget it." he said, stepping closer to me.
"Just say it."
And when I said that, I didn't expect it. But he kissed me, and it was so passionate, so full of emotions. All I could do was dive in the moment, and kiss back my High School crush slash a 200 year old Vampire.
