“Your mother and Doreen will be looking down on you and thinking to themselves my little girl has done good.

Dawn was very nervous as she stepped onto the charter plane to fly to London she sat in the seat and strapped herself in then opened the page where the song was and she read the lines over and over. The plane taxied for a short while then took off. The cabin crew came around with tea and coffee and breakfast but Dawn couldn’t eat anything she drank several cups of tea on the flight which took just over an hour then went to the toilet.

Rosina asked if she was alright to which she replied “my stomach is in knots here.’

Nerves are good said her father. I used to be terrified going on stage especially the first time but once the music starts you will find that your nerves just disappear and you will just sing like a bird. When the plane landed there was a car waiting to take them all to the studio which was so twenty minutes away. They were dropped off and Jim took Dawn and Rosina by the hand and they walked across the road and up the stairs. This time the gum chewing cockney recognised Jim and told him to go straight to the studio.

They walked along the corridor and Jim reminded her not to sign anything until he had looked at it first.’

Good morning Said Tony and then he saw Dawn.’ Is this the person we heard on the tape yesterday?’

“Yes it is.’

“She’s only a girl Jim.’

“Yes, my daughter may only be seven years old but she has an incredible voice don’t you think?’

I mean if you don’t want to sign her then there will be plenty of others just waiting to snap her up.’

“We want her Jim no question; can she come through and make herself ready there’s a piano and a guitar in there if you need an orchestra we can add that later.

The main thing is to get her voice down on tape.’

“I know how this goes you know I have been in the business for some years now.

“Sorry Jim; force of habit I’m afraid.

Look we need to get some photos of her as well for an album cover.

“I brought some stuff that she took herself that you maybe able to use.’

“Great can I take a look at them now?’

“Yes of course, Jim handed Tony the portfolio that Jim had compiled with photos

20 x16 they were in black and white format and Tony’s eyes lifted as he looked down on them.

“God this girl has talent alright, these are fantastic. If she sings as good as she takes pictures then she has a bright future ahead of her.

Dawn and Rosina went into the studio and she was asked to put on some head phones

She placed the music on the piano and played through the first verse of the song. Jim took up the guitar and checked to see if it was in tune. Then he placed another set of headphones on his head.

“Are you ready princess said Jim through the microphones; Tony will count you in okay?’

Dawn put up her thumb then looked towards the sound room sound where Tony was counting on his hand then gave dawn the thumbs up. Dawn played the intro then
