“I do know him Tracey; you call him Paulo Conti he is Rosina’s father.’
“Oh God know; you can’t do this Gordon think of the implications; this will split up the family; can you not just let it go.’
“No, I cannot let him get away with what he did.’
“This thing will destroy you Gordon and us if you pursue it I’m telling you.’
“What would you have me do, nothing?’
“I would confront the man that’s what I would do.’
“Then so be it; I will see this Italian Tomorrow.’
Dawn had not slept a wink all night as Travis lay beside her. She rose and went down stairs it was six thirty and she made herself a cup of coffee before ringing the Priory Hospital in York and booked her father into the rehab clinic. Then she rang Rosina and told her to pack an overnight bag for a few days.’
“Do you think that you can get him to go Dawn?’
“Yes he will go for me.’ I will be over with the doctor in half an hour.’
“Dawn told Travis what she planned to do and he offered to come with her but she said that it was best that she went alone.’ She got into her red Ferrari and drove over to Rosina’s house.’
Her father was up when she got there and he had a glass of whiskey in his hand.’
“Hello princess; what are you doing here?’
“I’ve come to get you some help dad.’ “You are coming to the rehab clinic with me; get yourself some clothes on.’
“I’m not going anywhere.’ I’m fine.’
“Listen dad if you don’t do what I ask then you will never see me again; do you understand.’
But honey I’m alright.’
“You are only fooling yourself dad look at yourself. She led him to the mirror in the hallway.
Take a good long look dad.’ now tell me there’s nothing wrong.’
“Well maybe I’ve dropped a few pounds but I was never fat you know that.’
“Dad you are a bag of bones.’
There was a knock at the door and Dawn answered. “Hello I’m Doctor Letve.’
Come in Doctor would you.’
The doctor looked at Jim then asked if he could take his blood pressure.
He placed the BP monitor on his arm then checked his heart rate.
“I’m afraid we need to get your father to hospital he is gravely ill.’
An ambulance was called and it turned up five minutes later. Are you going with him asked the doctor to Rosina as they walked out into the awaiting ambulance? Can I ring Travis Rosina?’
“Yes of course.’ Dawn rang the house to tell Travis that she was going to York with her father and that she wouldn’t be long.
Rosina chose to stay in the ambulance with her husband as Dawn followed the ambulance to the hospital in York
Her father’s condition had worsened and he was rushed straight into theatre where they pumped his stomach and administered a saline drip.’ They took bloods and tested for liver failure.
It was six hours later when Doctor Letve returned.’ Both Rosina and Dawn stood up immediately. “How is he doctor asked Rosina?’
“He is in a coma I’m afraid to tell you Mrs Gales; his condition is worse than we first thought.’
