“We need a new hangout guys. We all know this. But where could we find a good hangout in the middle of the forest?” I looked to my friends, Jade and Thor. We called ourselves the Pegs, and I have no idea why.
“I remember when I was younger I found this nice pond in the forest.” said Thor.
I patted him on the shoulder, well, I tried. He was too tall for me to reach, “Then let's check it out.”
We started our hike through the woods. Normally you would hear the birds chirping and the wind whistling through the trees. All I heard was the constant tapping of Jade on her phone, “Who could you possibly be texting!? We’re your only friends.” I exclaimed very annoyed with her.
Jade scoffed and flipped her black hair out of her face, “None of your business! Just this guy I met the other day.”
“Does this so called ‘guy’ have a name?” I questioned. Jade has never had a real boyfriend in her life. On countless occasions she has made up fake boyfriends so we would take her seriously. My mom says it's because she likes me but I don’t believe it.
She looked back down at her phone and continued, “If you're thinking that he’s fake, Marcus, he’s not, and his name is Ryan.”
I rolled my eyes at her, “Whatever.”
Thor ran ahead, “We’re here!”
I had to admit this place was beautiful. It was perfect for a hangout, “Hey! Why don’t we go for a swim!”
Jade looked up from her phone alarmed, “WHAT? There’s no way I’m swimming in that tub of filth!” she scrunched up her nose and turned away only to sit down and continue texting.
Thor got a huge smile on his face, “I’ll go! I’ll go Marcus!” he ran up to the edge and jumped off, resulting in a large splash in the water.
I soon followed him after.
It was about noon when we started to hear the footsteps and laughter. We all froze where we were. Who were these people? What were they doing at our new hangout?
Into the clearing we saw and brown haired boy with glasses, holding a book, two blonds, probably brother and sister, and the last one was a redhead, she was wearing a green flannel shirt.
The redhead was the first to notice us, “Hey! What do you think you're doing at The Rock?”
