The Brightest Demigod

I was looking at the origin of the name Hermione, and I found some Greek mythology stuff and had this idea- Hermione finds out her Muggle dad isn't actually her dad, but Hermes, Greek god of messengers, is. Her mother was a witch, and a Daughter of Athena, which is why Hermione is such a bright and powerful human. She's not only a witch, but a demigod. Reasons why Hermes? Look at the picture attached to the FIRST CHAPTER.

1. I'm a What?

"So you're telling me that you are, in fact, not my real dad?" I said, staring at my father—apparently, adopted father, as I just found out about ten seconds ago—in disbelief. He just simply nodded.

What I had just heard, made little sense. It also completely surprised me, which wasn't something that happened often. Ever since I found out I was a witch, and first attended Hogwarts, not a thing could easily surprise me anymore. That was until I found out my father was not my real father, but a Greek god was.

I didn't even believe it at first, but my mum even confirmed it.

In case you aren't familiar with the Greek gods and goddesses, there are twelve main ones, then a bunch more lesser ones. Three of the twelve, where the three main gods, Zeus being head of all gods. Poseidon and Hades—who was banished to the Underworld, or, as most people know it,  Hell.

Anyways, the most powerful gods are Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Demeter, Athena, twins Apollo and Artemis, Ares, Aphrodite, Hephaestus, Hermes, and Dionysus. I won't go too deep into detail on the gods, as it is confusing. We are going to focus on Hemes because my parents had just told me that's who my real father is. Hermes, god of roads, speed, messengers, commerce, travel, thieves, merchants, athletes, and mail deliverers—which count as messengers, I guess, but that is his official title.

This is how it was told to me: my mum, about 21 years ago, met the most incredible man. She said that he was gorgeous, and different; she could feel it. Long story short, they fell in love and spent a little over a year together. By the time he had to go, she knew who he was. He had told her long before, so she knew what she was getting herself into.

He had to leave, he had no choice. Being a god is hard work. Or so I hear. I wouldn't know, but being a witch is hard enough. Especially with Muggle parents. But he had to go, he didn't even know I was born until I was born. My mum had already remarried, to everyone who knew her's surprise.

He came to visit her once. To see me. I was 1, already showing signs of magic. My mother's parents were magical, but not her. She just carried the gene, passing it on to me. That's how I am a witch. Hermes...he's how I am...what they call a demigod: half-human, half-god, also known as a half-blood.

I was not only a muggleborn—mudblood—but also a half-blood. It shocked me. I didn't know what to do with this new information, and I did not know why my parents chose to tell me now, after all this time.

I was about to find out. Starting with some new shoes.
