Misplaced Love

Alex used to be as happy as he could be, until he put all his love into one person. Will Alex get through this, or will his heart be forever broken?

6. That Night

When Sandra got here, she sat on the couch next to me.

  "What's wrong?"

"How could something be wrong when nothing was ever right?"

 She turned to me.

 "What do you mean?"

"I spent so much of my life on the wrong person. I gave all my love to her. I trusted her. I thought we were going to get married and spend the rest of our life together. I'm not even pissed at her anymore. I'm pissed at myself for believing every word she said, I'm pissed at myself for trusting her, and most of all, I'm pissed at myself for giving all my attention to someone who would just throw it away." I sighed.

"Alex, you're an amazing guy. She was a bitch for cheating on you. And 2 days before your wedding. I just don't understand that if she didn't want to be with you why didn't she just say so."

 I quickly looked at her.

"Sandra... I didn't tell you about how close it was to the wedding. How did you know?" I asked.

I could see she was nervous.

"I didn't. It was just a guess." She stuttered.

 "You're hiding something."

 "No, I'm not."

 "Alex!" Antonio yelled.

"I'll be right back." I sighed and went inside Antonio's room.

"Alex, there's something you should know about that girl that you call 'Sandra'."

He showed me his phone. It was on Sandra's Facebook page.

Do you guys ever wish you had that one person who you are crushing on hopelessly

but you know it won't work out because they're going through their own heartbreak?

                                                                                                        Posted Today at 8:15 AM

"Alex, she was here this morning at 8:15. You're going through a heartbreak."

I stared at him.

"Get your head out of your ass and open your eyes." He sighed.

I peeked into the living room to see her waiting patiently.

"What am I going to do?"

 "Ask her what it's about."

I stared at her. She had the prettiest eyes. Her hair was flowing like majestic waterfall. Her voice was smooth as butter.

  "Alex, did you hear me?"

I kept staring at Sandra as the world faded away. I walked into the living room.

"Hey, are you okay?" She asked.

 "Yeah, I am." I smiled.

She smiled back and her phone rang.

I stared at her as she talked on the phone.

"Oh my gosh, I'll be there as soon as possible." She said and hung up.

 "What happened?" I asked.

"My mom is... uh..." She sighed.

 I stared at her.

"She's dying. I have to go. I'm so sorry." She said and left.
