“Are we said Ronnie with a puzzled look on his face.’

It will not only strengthen our legs Ron but you can practice your map reading skills as well.’

“Great said Ronnie sarcastically.’

“We haven’t got any camping gear.’

“Don’t worry about that I have a six man tent if you two don’t mind sharing said Roger.’

“I’ve never been camping before said Ann; there won’t be any creepy crawlies in the tent will there.

“Only me said Ronnie as he jumped down from the sauna onto the bottom where Ann was sitting.

“That’s settled then next Friday night we take the bus to Newcastle then we can pick up the coach to Keswick.’

“Right I have had enough of this heat I’m going for a shower then I’m getting changed. We will see you in the café for a cup of tea and a sandwich in half an hour.’

Both Ronnie and roger grabbed their towels and headed off to the showers in the changing rooms. “What’s the names of these mountains we are going to climb Roger?’

“We will do Blencathra off sharp edge first, then Helvellyn, and finally Scafel Pike.’

“Are they very high?’

“High enough to test us and there is a good walk to each as well. It will give you a good test of your map reading skills that’s for sure.’

“I will inform the sergeant that we are away climbing, he will understand.’

“It was him who told us to do this.’

“Yes, but not with two girls in tow said Ronnie.’

“It will be fun said Roger; I went to High boron’s with the school in 1982 so I am fully conversant with camping out. We can take our turns with the cooking and cleaning; we don’t want the girls to think that we are taking them just so they can look after our needs.’

“I am in need, I don’t know about you?’

“You have got sex on the brain.’

“I wish you had Roger, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy you know.’

“There will be plenty time for play I promise you.’

“I’m glad to hear it.’

The lads quickly got ready then headed to the café up stairs.

It was another fifteen minutes when the girls turned up.’
