“Which hotel are we staying at?’

“We aren’t we have a caravan for two nights.’

“Roger it’s going to be freezing in there.’

“Well according to the lady that I spoke with this afternoon she told me that there is a large electric fire inside the caravan.’

“We are near to Lou’s place as well so we will get a good breakfast and you have a hunky man to keep you warm what more could a girl ask for.’

They headed towards the caravan site taking the coastal view. It was already dark now; there was the odd couple walking their dogs they were wearing mufflers on their ears and heavy anoraks and a woollen scarf around their necks.

Each wore brown leather hiking boots. Both dogs had specially made coats for Jack Russell’s to keep them warm.

Most of the arcades had closed and there was only the café and the Berkley Tavern open.

They drove past the Briar Dene Pub then the cemetery before turning the corner to Feathers Caravan Site.

Roger and Ronnie signed in then took the keys off the old lady that Roger had spoken with earlier that afternoon. “If there’s anything that you need just give me a shout said the old lady. She was wearing a red tartan skirt and a green coloured anorak and tartan headscarf to match her skirt. She told them that she and her husband had come from Coldstream on the Scottish Borders some thirty years ago and fell in love with the place. They both had been caretakers for twenty seven years and kept the place spotless.’

Opening the caravan they were pleasantly surprised. It was a lot bigger than what they were expecting. There was a kitchen area with lots of cupboard space; a lounge, Shower cubicle and bathroom suite, TV, a nice sitting area and two bedrooms. They put on the electric fire and within twenty minutes it was very warm. There were radiators in the bedroom so Roger switched those on before making tea. Roger being the Boy Scout had thought of everything. He brought sugar, milk Coffee, teabags, and biscuits.

Ronnie put on the Television and they all watched a video of Dirty Dancing with Patrick Swayze. The story itself was very corny but the music amused the girls.

“Then they watched “The Untouchables’ with Robert De Nero, Sean Connery, and Kevin Costner. Anyone hungry asked Ronnie.’

“We could order a large pizza.’

“What kind would you like girls?

“Ham and pineapple for us said Ann.’
