1. Reliving It

Did you know that every time that you write anything, your characters are actually real? That they actually are alive, only they live in the book, and when anything happens in words, it's actually happening to them?

I've had to relive the brutal murder of my brother, my father, my sister, my nurse maid, my dog, my whole family. I've had to resee it, see the injustice, and the murders getting away.

Constantly, over and over, and having to hold my emotions in because our books would be burned for witchcraft if we changed the story. I couldn't break down and cry, or tell my brother, my father, anybody that I love him, because he was dying over and over, suffering over and over.

It is torture, being a character.

And when I see the readers crying, I want to cry, but I can't. I just have to grin and bear it.

When my brother doesn't want to die again, he can't stop it. He just has to be eaten by the wolves and die.

This life isn't a life.

It's a death.
