60. Chapter Sixty

Natalia's POV

The screams and chants of the students at James Madison High flowed through my ears, as I walked through the glass hallway of school. School was halfway over, and I was just walking to lunch. But the chants made me stop.

"Fight, fight, fight!" I rolled my eyes and shook my head. The amount of fights that's been going on this week has been surprising. It's mostly all the seniors because school ends in two weeks, which means they really can't get expelled or suspended since the seniors have their... 'Senior privileges'. The students chanted names, as more and more people came into the crowd. Talk about drawing attention. I couldn't understand the names being chanted, but a few seconds later, teachers and the principal showed up.

"Knock it off!" One of the more aggressive teachers yelled. The security guards split the crowd up, giving me a perfect view of the two students involved in the fight. The one security guard picked Jason up by the neck, and held him steady, as he tried to get free.

"Next time you talk about my girlfriend like that, you won't be walking out of this school." Jason threatened as he was taken away. Jackson was the next one to be taken away, following Jason.

"What the hell!?" I followed the two boys down the hall. Amber joined me, walking fast by my side. We both sat outside the office, watching as the principle threw his hands around. He started to yell, which made the boys go crazy. They both jumped up and started yelling, which, I presume only made the situation worse. The office door opened, and out walked Jason and Jackson. Jason's hands were shaking from anger, as he walked right outside the office, the door slamming open.

"What the hell was that about!"

"I got this, Lia." Amber held her hand up to me.

"What the hell was that!"

"Some pervert of a senior started talking about you and Jason went off on him," Jackson replied.

"And why did you get involved?" Amber asked.

"He was talking shit about the people we care about." Amber sighed and shook her head.

"Why would you even think about getting involved in that?"

"You know why!" He yelled, before walking out of the office.

"Ms. Grey." Mr. Lionel spoke. I turned around and saw his disheveled appearance.

"We need to talk." He said, guiding me into his office.

"What's this about?"

"I understand you're currently in a relationship with Jason Summers?"

"Yes, sir."

"I have given him chance after chance, but he takes them for granted. The deal was, if he proves he has changed for the better, he would be able to stay in this school. But he has not proven me anything. Which brings me to say... He is expelled."

"Mr. Lionel, with all, do respect, Jason has changed. He got into one fight, and this was the first one in months. He was ticked off. I don't think he should get expelled for one fight."

"Can you prove he's changed?" He asked, leaning forward.

"I can, but I know you won't accept my verbal statement. But I know he has changed."

"Would you be willing to keep him in line if he stays in this school?"

"Sir, you need to understand that I can't control what Jason does or says. He may listen to me, but his actions are not my problem. The way he acts is the way he is. There's no changing that."

"Then it's settled, he will not continue the rest of his junior year and senior year at home or in a different school."

"I'll do it. I'll keep him in line."

"Why would you agree to that!? I don't need to be watched!" Jason yelled, pacing the house.

"He thinks you do, and I'm the only one who could do it. I saved your ass, Jason. You were going to get expelled."

"I don't need a babysitter."

"It's not a babysitter. Jason, I'm just making sure you stay in line."

"Same damn thing."

"Fine, you don't want me to help you out? Fine. Then when you get expelled, you can pick up Macey from daycare, you can take care of Zack, you can clean the house!"

"We aren't married, Talia! I don't need to do anything around here. Macey and Zack aren't my kids, and this isn't your house, and this isn't my house! I moved into benefit for you!"

"Love you too." I scoffed, grabbing my bag in my right hand, and my mom's keys in the other.

"Where are you going?"

"Until you calm down, and take a breath and realize I'm helping you, I'm going to Amber's," Once in the car, I pulled out the card Mr. Lionel gave me in case I had any questions regarding what's going on with this deal. His personal cell phone and home number laid on the card in thick black ink.

"Hello?" A woman's voice answered the phone.

"Hi, this is Natalia Grey, is um, is Thomas Lionel around?"

"Yes, he is, hang on one second."

"Natalia?" Mr. Lionel asked.

"Yeah, hi sir."

"What can I do for you?"

"Um, so, I spoke to Jason about this whole deal we have, and I don't think it'll work out. It's ruining my relationship." I heard his deep intake of breath. "Sir, I think you should give Jason one more chance. Without anyone watching and monitoring him. He really has changed, but he has a temper, you have to understand that. When it comes to the people he cares about, he loses it. I'm sure you would do the same if it was your wife."

"I'll see you and Jason tomorrow morning at school for one last chance. Don't prove me wrong, Ms. Grey." He said before hanging up the phone. I took a deep breath and continued to drive down the road to Amber's house.

What I told Mr. Lionel was true. Jason does have a temper that is uncontrollable. It's something we all have, but Jason's is tested when someone says something he doesn't like. And it's something people have to understand. There's no changing that. My thoughts ended, when Amber's front door came into my view, and since I'm like family, I just opened the door. Leo stood in the living room playing with his trucks, as I walked past him.

"Hey- oh my god," I said, covering my eyes.

"Talia, oh my god," Amber said, covering herself up. Jackson covered himself up after, and that was when I uncovered my eyes. I looked at my two best friends, astonished.

"Well, um, I was gonna say I needed someone to talk to... But I see you're busy." I said, before turning around.

"Wait, Talia!" Jackson yelled.

"No, I saw way too much," I said, pushing him away from me.

"Just call me later, and I'll explain." I didn't answer, I just turned around and left the house, trying to get the gross image of my two best friends in bed together.

"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to snap at you." Jason said as I closed the front door. I blinked a couple times, trying to process what happened at Amber's.

"I saw Jackson bare naked."

"Um, what?"

"I found, um, Amber and Jackson in bed together."

"What a nice surprise."

"It's not funny. My two best friends are sleeping together?"

"Don't worry about it, T. Jackson knows what he's doing." He replied, as my phone started blowing up.

"Hi, you have a lot to explain."

"I know," Jackson replied.

"So, what does this mean for you and Amber?"

"We're kind of dating."

"How long?"

"Not long, three weeks."

"What about Poppy?"

"We're still friends. Don't get me wrong, I like Poppy, but I like Amber too."

"Jackson, just don't hurt my best friend,"

"I won't."

"I mean it, don't hurt her. When she's in a relationship, she's seriously in a relationship. And if you hurt her, I'll have to hurt you."

"I know, Talia." After hanging up, I laid my head on the armrest of the couch.

"I did some thinking, and I'm okay with you watching over me in school,"

"I don't need to. I called Mr. Lionel and told him it's ruining our relationship. He's giving you one last chance. He said no more after this."

"Doesn't he creep you out?"

"A little, but not too much."

"He's a creep. Someone said he beats his wife."

"Jason." I gasped.

"What? It was a rumor."

This was a very bad chapter, I don't like this at all. But the secret between Jackson and Amber had to get out. As I was writing this chapter, I had seriously bad writer's block, and I still do. I have ideas in my head, but I can't put them together, which sucks.

I know this chapter is bad, you don't have to comment on this one because it's absolutely terrible. I'm sorry for such a bad chapter. Next chapter, hopefully, it'll be better:)

My updating schedule is going to change in the next week. I am going on vacation on Friday, which means there will be absolutely no updating during my vacation time. Just wanted to put that out there:)
