1. I'm Writing this Poem

I'm writing this poem with a stick.

I'm writing this in the dirt

That is between two bricks

That I am staring at.

I hear the voices of people.

"Is she always like that?"

"Does she even try?"

The wind carrying their words,

Like the ocean carries a wave.

All I can do is stare at these bricks.

The bricks that taunt me.

I'm writing this poem in my head.

All my thoughts and emotions,

Spilled out onto a paper.

I can hear the voices in my head.

The voices saying "You can't"

And "You won't."

The thoughts pulse through my body,

Like a current of electricity.

All I can do is listen to the voices in my head,

The voices that taunt me.

I'm writing this poem with my dreams.

The dreams that never existed,

And the dreams that have existed,

But I never acted upon.

The dreams that I see people that I love die,

The dreams that I fall off buildings,

And wake up sprawled across the floor.

Feeling like you can't control your life.

Like you are a character in a game.

All I can do is close my eyes and dream,

The dreams that taunt me.
