Fortunes |Book One|

Admit it, there's always a weird kid in the back of the class that nobody talks to. Don't pretend it's not true, because it is and you know it. People will always talk about how weird they are, but maybe that's because those kids are special. I'm not talking "Special help" special, or they have a mental condition, I'm talking special powers, abilities far beyond that of your imagination. These people are the weird kids in the back of the class for one reason only, they don't want anyone to know. When their secrecy is threatened, things can get...messy.

8. Chapter 8: Blair & Sabrina

The next morning, Sorcellerie and Alkhimiya woke up together. Sorcellerie got up and got dressed, allowing Alkhimiya to borrow her hair brush. When they left the room, Sorcellerie was fully dressed and ready for breakfast, and Alkhimiya returned to her room to get dressed, leaving Sorcellerie to wait outside. As she waited, she noticed a small group of girls walk up the hallway towards her. Sorcellerie gave a small nod, then looked away, indicating that she did not want to talk. The girls didn't seem to get the message.

"So you're the new kid. What was her name again Brina?" The first one said in a snooty tone. She was tall and blonde with sun kissed skin. Her golden hair was left to hang down to just past her shoulders and was straightened to perfection. Her flat stomach was revealed by the short cut of her white top, with 'Daddy's Princess' written in sparkly pink letters across the front and her slender hips were barley peeking out of her tight denim skirt. In short, she was dressed from head to toe in your stereotypical 'mean girl' style.

"It was some stupid French thing, celery or something like that," the other girl, Brina, Sorcellerie guessed, replied not paying much attention to anything but her nails. She was also dressed in a typical 'mean girl' fashion, with a pink skirt, a white tube top, lightly curled dirty blonde hair, and sun kissed skin.

"Yes, I'm new here. My name is Sorcellerie, may I ask your names?" Sorcellerie replied, looking over the girls. She wasn't sure she liked them, but maybe they were just bad at first impressions?

"I'm Sabrina, this is Blair," the first girl explained, pointing to her and her friends in turn. "That's Alexis and Regina. Anybody with half a brain would know that."

"I don't see why you're insulting me, I don't recall doing anything to offend or harm you," Sorcellerie replied. "But if I have done something, please let me know and I will apologize,"

Sabrina laughed. "I don't think you will, but if you want to apologize for your existence then go right ahead."

"May I ask what I have done to make you so rude?" Sorcellerie asked.

"She's always rude," a Russian accented voice informed her. Sorcellerie turned to see Alkihimya coming out of her bedroom. "Why don't you run along and play with your little kitten Sabrina? Salem, if I remember correctly?"

Sabrina flushed red. "How dare you?" She shrieked. "My parents will her about this!"

"You can't talk to her that way, Cossak*!" Blair replied angrily. "You don't even belong in this country, go back to your stupid 'Mother Russia' or whatever!"

"I can talk however I wish, and I have no plans to travel to Russia any time soon. In fact, I don't plan to go back ever." Alkihimya told her without skipping a beat. "Now why don't you go back to stealing people from the woods and staring in poor quality horror films?"

The other two girls, Alexis and Regina if Sorcellerie remembered correctly, looked as if they were about to say something, but had realized the probability of the Russian firing something back and thought better of it. The flustered girls did their best to make it look like they were the ones who had done the insulting and left down the hallway.

"How did you know that one of them had a cat, and that the other used to star in horror movies?" Sorcellerie asked, after the girls had left.

Alkhimiya laughed. "They don't, I was referencing Sabrina The Teenage Witch, and The Blair Witch Project. They hate it, so it makes a great comeback when they attempt to bully you like petty children on a schoolyard."

"I'll have to remember that," she joked. "Why were they bullying me? What have I done? It's only my third day."

Alkhimiya rolled her eyes before replying. "They want to secure their fictional position as social royalty, so whenever a new person arrives with the ability to take that position they bully them into submission. It's a stupid concept really."

"Why do they think I would do that? I don't want to have any fictitious status," Sorcellerie asked, as they began to make their way to the dinning room.

"They do it because you are pretty, rich and have a small french accent that many people find attractive," Alkihimya explained. "It's the perfect recipe for their kind."

"Oh," Sorcellerie hadn't looked at it that way before. "Well, either way, I have no intention of becoming like them."

I'm so sorry for the short chapter, I forgot I hadn't finished this one until around 11pm on Saturday, so I didn't have much time to work with. I hope you liked this chapter though!
