Fortunes |Book One|

Admit it, there's always a weird kid in the back of the class that nobody talks to. Don't pretend it's not true, because it is and you know it. People will always talk about how weird they are, but maybe that's because those kids are special. I'm not talking "Special help" special, or they have a mental condition, I'm talking special powers, abilities far beyond that of your imagination. These people are the weird kids in the back of the class for one reason only, they don't want anyone to know. When their secrecy is threatened, things can get...messy.

26. Chapter 26: Plans For The Future

After they had finished informing McGuffin of the night's events, the twins and Edmund had made their way into the room. Edmund confirmed what McGuffin had been told, and soon after the police left, saying that all but the basement was cleared for access.

"I'm going to contact your parents, I think they will agree with me when I say that you all deserve the next few weeks off of school. This will surely take time to sink in, and was likely quite traumatic," McGuffin explained as the police cars were pulling away.

"Headmistress?" Alkhimiya spoke up. "Perhaps it would be best for me to contact my parents instead? They only speak russian, and tend to be very nervous about strangers."

"Yes, of course," McGuffin replied, as if having remembering speaking with Alkhimiya's parents before. "Now, Mr and Miss Prophetie, do you know of any relatives I could contact?"

"None that I've ever met, my mother didn't have much family and father never spoke of his," Sorcellerie replied.

McGuffin nodded. "I will speak to the police then I suppose, to see what I can do for you of course. I will be staying here with you until I know you will be looked after, but I must notify the other staff. Do you have a phone I could use?"

"Of course, I believe the closest one is in the family room. I'll show you," Sorcellerie told her, turning to bring her to the mentioned family room.

"Miss Koldovstvo perhaps you should come as well, I'm sure your family would like to hear from you," McGuffin asked.

"It is okay, I can use my cellphone," Alkhimiya pulled a phone out of her pocket and dialed a number. "I will just be a moment."

Alkhimiya left the room, chatting away in russian the whole time.

Sorcellerie lead McGuffin to the phone, and then walked back into the front hall where her friends were waiting. Alkhimiya also walked back into the room, slipping her phone back into her pocket.

"Who did you call?" Jinseinoshi asked. "Assuming you can't call the dead of course."

"I believe I ordered a pizza, though it may be delayed in it's arrival," Alkhimiya grinned. "There seemed to have been some sort of communication issue."

Sorcellerie laughed, before noting the absence of Edmund and the twins. "Where is everyone?"

"You're brother decided to give the twins a tour of the place," Jinsienoshi explained. "I thought I'd wait for you as you've been here recently where he has not."

"That sounds more reasonable," Alkhimiya replied. "Would you do the honours?"

As they walked, Sorcellerie began to grow curious of where Alkhimiya lived when not at school. If she had a foster family, why did she not call them?

"Miya, where do you go during the summer?" Sorcellerie asked. "Do you have people you stay with, or...?"

"For most of the summer I go backpacking around the country, but I stay with Jinsei every few weeks," she explained. "It is a good way to see the world, though it does introduce you to some questionable characters."

"Would you like to stay with me this summer?" Sorcellerie asked. "If I can stay here that is."
