1. Illusion

She smiles and hides her face

She acts like everything is fine

She seems just to be shy

But really, she's breaking

She's dying

She's struggling for air

She's remembering

Every second of every day, the memories flood in her head

Memories of abuse

Memories of lashings

Memories of being tormented

She smiles and hides her face

She acts like everything is fine

But it's just a lie

Just an illusion

A thought creeps in her head

He acts cool and calm

He acts like he's the best person in the world

He seems to be just another rich kid

But really, he's breaking

He's dying

He's struggling for air

Tears flow like waterfalls

He's sure he's a failure

Everyone's disappointed him

He has been tormenting himself

He acts cool and calm

He acts like he's the best person in the world

But it's just a lie

Just an illusion

A thought creeps in his head

The thought seems to be welcoming at first

It acts innocent

It seems to be the best way to go

But really, it's something that breaks

It's something that kills

It's something that makes you feel out of breath

The thought seems to be welcoming at first

It acts innocent

But really, it's just a lie

Just an illusion

You aren't what they say

You aren't what you say

You aren't a failure

You aren't an accident

You aren't better off dead

You aren't ugly

Don't torment yourself

Don't let anyone torment you

You are alive

You are loved

You are worth living

You're amazing
