We were grabbing weapons and a health kit each when Ellis said: “"I ever tell you about the time my buddy Keith drove his car off a cliff, broke both his legs? It's not a funny "ha-ha" story so much as a make-you-think story. For instance: windshields look pretty durable, right? Not the case, according to Keith. He flew right through that sucker-”

“Ellis, is now the best time?” Nick asked.

“Okay.”

Coach stood by the door, shooting zombies. He turned to look at us, then back out the safe room door. “Let’s move!” He removed the bar then pushed open the door. He walked to the ticket booths, shooting infected as he went. I walked inside the the biggest booth, to the right of the other ones, and spotted a crowbar. I walked over to it, picked it up, and dropped my handgun. I was about to walk back out when I saw some laser sights.

“Guys! Come ‘ere!” I shouted to them. They came in, and I pointed to the laser sights.

“Oh yeah!”

“Laser beams!”

“Sweet.”

We each grabbed one, and I pointed my shotgun at a zombie. The red dot was on the zombie, and when I fired, the zombie went boom. I smirked, then walked back towards the games inside the amusement park.

Beeeeeeeeeeeeppppppp

“They’re comin!” Coach shouted, pointing his gun towards some infected running towards us. We had just activated the carousel so we could get through the fence.

“Turn that thing off!” Nick commanded. Once the fence was pulled open far enough, I ran through and towards the operator's area for the ride, which would have the button to turn off the alarm. I rounded the corner and stopped short. A witch was sitting there, crying like usual. I looked back at my teammates following me; they hadn’t noticed her yet. I pulled out my crowbar and slashed at some zombies climbing over the fence.

“Witch here!” I pointed to the female infected. I then took off for the control panel for the ride, carefully avoiding the witch this time. I decapitated the zombies running towards me, looking for the switch to turn off the alarm. “Ah-ha!” I flipped it, hearing the beeping noise go away. A couple zombies were attacking me from behind, so I turned and decapitated them. The others stood by me, shooting/slashing at the still-coming-zombies.

“Reloading!” Coach yelled. I pulled out my combat shotgun, blowing some of them away.

“Hey, watch out now!” Ellis shouted, looking behind me. I turned to see more zombies running towards us, I shot a few of them.

“Reloading!” Nick and Rochelle said together. I began to put some bullets back into the combat shotgun, but when the infected got too close I would hit them away.

Once we had cleared away all the infected, we walked towards the safe room door.

“The tunnel of love? Are you kidding me?!” Nick frowned heavily, looking up at the sign above the safe room door. We all laughed at Nick, who glared at us. We walked inside, and Coach was about to close the door when Ellis stopped him.

“Wait y’all. I wanna try something.” Ellis walked back out the door, causing us to start following him. “Get ready to get back in the safe room and shut the door.” Ellis smiled, creeping back the way we came. I shared a confused look with the Coach.

“Who wants to close the door?” Nick smirked, looking at each of us. Rochelle gave him a ‘Really?’ look, to which Nick just laughed. I looked back out the door, watching as Ellis pulled out his hunting rifle and aimed it at something. Ellis shot and the next second we heard….the witch screeching. He shot the witch!

I started laughing as I saw Ellis high-tailing it back here with a witch on his tail.

“Get inside, get inside!” He shouted, jumping over the banister things right in front of the safe room door. Once Ellis was in Coach slammed the door shut, right in the witch’s face.

“Boy, I don’t know what you think you were doing.” Coach said, giving Ellis a straight face. Then his face broke out into a smile. “But that was pretty dang funny.” We all started laughing, minus Nick that is.

“Are we staying here tonight?” Nick asked, looking around.

“I would be fine with that.” I answered after I stopped laughing.

“Okay, I call that room.” Nick walked over to the only room with the only bed in it, and sat down on the bed.

“Not cool, man, not cool.” Ellis frowned.

Being in the tunnel of love made me think of Ellis. By now I had figured out that I had a crush on him, but that didn’t make me stop thinking about him.

“Hey, you okay?” Rochelle scooted over to me. Her face held concern so I sat up and faced her.

“Yeah, just...thinking.” I shrugged.

“About what?”

I looked over at Ellis. “Things.” I looked back at her. She followed where I was looking then turned back to me.

“Is this about Ellis?”

I blushed. “Yeah.”

“What about him?”

“I, er...I don’t know if I can tell you.” I looked down. She smiled softly.

“What’s going on?” She said light-heartedly, laughing a little at the end.

“I….may or may not like him.” I smiled sheepishly at her. She laughed, smiling big. “You don’t like him too….do you?”

“Me? Sweetie, I’m 29. He’s way younger than me. How old are you?”

“20.”

“I’ll ask him how old he is tomorrow, but I think he’s around your age.” She tilted her head.

“When did this start?”

“Well…” I put my finger up to my chin in thought. “I thought he was pretty cute when I met him...I think I confirmed I liked him when we were in Jimmy Gibbs Jr.’s stockcar.”

“I’ll tell you this, I do approve of you two getting together.”

“You sound like you know that it’s going to happen.”

She shrugged. “If you two get together.” She smiled knowingly. “You two would make an adorable couple.” I sighed almost dreamily.

“What are you guys talking about?” Nick said from his doorway. He sounded slightly irritated, and he had his arms crossed.

“(Y/N) and El-” Rochelle cut herself off. “(Y/N) and her crush.” Nick raised his eyebrows.

“El? Who’s that?” Nick moved towards us.

“Someone!” I replied quickly. He smirked.

“So you like them….their name starts with El...do you like Ellis?” I blushed like crazy, but it was dark so I don’t know how well they could see it.

“E-Ellis? Why would you say him? There was a guy I knew named Ellen.”

“Yep, it’s Ellis.” Nick laughed. “Why would you like him?”

“I...I don’t know. Just please don’t tell him!” Nick put his hand to his chin in thought. He tapped it, humming in a taunting way. “Please!”

“...I’ll think about it. No guarantees.”

“Would you guys shut up? I’m trying to sleep.” Coach grumbled.

“Well I best be getting my beauty sleep.” Nick smirked, walking back into his room and closing the door. I sighed.

“What am I supposed to do?” I turned back to Rochelle. She shrugged.

“I don’t really know. Just pretend you don’t I guess.”

“But what if he realizes?”

“Who realizes what?” Ellis sat up, looking at you 2.

“Oh, uh, n-nothing!” I replied, smiling unconvincingly at him. He tilted his head.

“You sure?”

“Completely! You just, uh, go to back to sleep and stuff!” I bit my lip. He nodded hesitantly, then lied back down. I looked over at Rochelle.

“It’s probably best if you get some sleep.” She nodded at me, lying down on the ground.

“Okay.” I lied down 5 feet from her and closed my eyes.
