1. 1/1

Little doll, please tell me what it is behind your glass eyes.

What is it that you see?

What is it that you dream?

Will you ever be able to stand and walk towards them?

With your wooden hands outstretched?

Why can't you move?

Why aren't you singing?

To the tune of the Cheshire cat,

While you move to the rhythm of the Caucus race.

Where has our little Alice gone?

Deep inside the rotting wood I know you're there,

Waiting for me to find you.

Waiting for me to hold you.

Oh little Alice don't be scared,

I know who you are.

I know where you come from.

I know that Wonderland, isn't yours.

But, a dream you wish to find.

Because you’re wooden hands won't move

And your legs have decayed.

Where did poor Alice go?

The small girl that hails from the land of the Looking Glass

Who wished to find her cat.

Ones whose name she had forgotten.

Which path will she choose?

And what animal did she follow?

Dear Alice, don't follow me

Wonderland is no place for a girl

Not one who’s pure as glass.

The land is full of animals,

Ones who wish to hurt you.

And another,

Who wishes, to erase your pencil lines.

Alice. Why did you leave?

Come back to our land,

Our land full of checkered floors

And mirror trees.

Our land where your fragile mind had always belonged.

Forget about the burning in your lungs,

And the loss of breath.

Forget about the pain that resides inside your chest.

And when you wake up,

You’ll promise me to count to three

And whisper your name.

Please Alice, come back.

We promise we won’t break you,

To hold you tightly and release you from the guillotine.

To cut the noose and let you down.

To bind your tarnished feet from the picquet.

To stitch you back up and remove you from the rack.

To cut down the strappado and place your joints back.

We promise to patch you back up as if nothing ever happened.

Yet, you’ve trapped yourself in the small wooden doll.

Why do you refuse me?

When I was the one who created you?

Please come back,

Forgive me of my sins.

I promise to find your tatter mind,

In this wretched world we call "Wonderland".

Don't you fret my dear little Alice,

I promise to find you.

To piece you back together

and stitch you a dress made of white lilies.

But, please do forgive me,

For I was never good with a needle.

Please don’t you move

My dear little Alice

For I don’t wish to torment you further.

Please don’t you look.

For I don’t wish to frighten you further.

Because you'll never leave,

And I’ll never let you go.

Poor little Alice, why do you try so hard?

Pounding with your small hands at the blue dirt.

Until they become nothing but a tarnished pool of ink.

when I told you many times.

Wonderland is no place for a girl.

not one that is tarnished

and corrupted as bent grass.

This land is full of animals,

Ones who wish you gone

and another,

who wishes you back.

Dear little Alice, please tell me what it is behind your glass eyes.

What is it that you see?

What has your sister left for you to dream?

Will you ever be able to go back?

to the world that you dream of?

why aren't you moving?

why aren't you singing?

to the cries of the Cheshire cat,

while you move to the beat of the dead parade.

Oh little Alice don't you cry.

I know of your sin,

I know of your lie.

I know that "Alice" isn't yours,

But a dream you stole.

Because your sister stopped moving

And your mind has decayed.

Forget about the burning on your face,

And the loss of grace

forget about the pain that resides in your head.

And when you wake up,

You'll promise me to count to three,

And drown the rabbit at the bottom of the sea.

For this name has corroded you,

And your sister has abandoned you.

So, tell me sweet little Alice. What is your real name?
