1. Moving On.

I’ve moved on from their faces.

Their nastiness, those tasteless

jokes that they spat around,

filling the silence with unbearable sound

I have no reason at all

to pay attention as those words crawl

through my mind how cruel they are

And now I’m falling, falling far

down and down and star after star

race past me and I am left.

Because I have committed a theft

of their cruelty

I am my own beauty

my own self

my own health

Because I’m looking after myself now

I wear a crown

of pride that shows a new dawn

For my life,

For me,

I’m moving on.
