Autumn's Life

Why me? Why us?

* * *

Autumn's life fell apart when she lost her parents to a terrible bombing in her city. She escaped with her sister and met her two best friends. They were finally let free and lived with a kind couple, meeting her crush in the most unexpected of times. And just when she thought she was rid of her past, it comes back to haunt her. One after another wave of sadness, grief and guilt from the horrible and unexpected events comes crashing down over Autumn's head before she can recover from the previous wave. Will she ever find happiness again? Or will she let those waves drown her with depression?

This is her story.

Cover credit goes to my friend.

1. Author's Note

Thank you for reading this story! I'm only 12 years-old and this is my first story where I created everything, the plot, the characters, everything, so don't judge too harshly, okay? Thank you again; it means the world to me.

Also, the characters are entirely fictitious and any relation to any personnel living or dead is purely coincidental.

This is like a combination of all the books I like with my own characters and plot so if you see a little of Twilight by Stephenie Meyer, the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, Snow White and the Huntsmanthe Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare Matched by Ally Condie or Delirium by Lauren Oliver, all credit goes to the authors.

The theme for the beginning chapters are mainly Delirium and Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver so credit goes to the author but it changes as it goes.

I wanted to write a fictional excerpt to publish in the school's magazine and unconsciously, I created characters and a history for them. Before I even began writing this book, I read over what I wrote and I was like, these characters deserve more than a 4-page-essay life. So I started writing Autumn's Life. You'll see the chapter that caused me to start writing this somewhere in the middle of the story.

Without my friend, TT, the cover for this book would be quite boring. I created the title so I'm sorry if it's a little lame.

Anyway, enough of my blabbing- I know you might be a tiny bit impatient to continue reading. Again, thank you for reading and hope you enjoy!
