Crack of Dawn

Her blood has a secret, one she doesn't know of. She has a secret of her own, one people don't know of. Alaska Camille was never more than ordinary in her hard life; at least that's what people assumed. If anything Alaska has the darkest secrets Summerdale probably has. Kept in the shadows by herself she will have no choice, but to open up and expose those dark secrets. Yet, how could you trust life when a boy tells you you're not...you? Copyright 2016. The moment he walked in the door I knew I was going to have such a pain in my ass. His image said it all; literally. His shirt said that he was a so called, "bad ass," he was wearing his pants too low for my liking, and his eyes just yelled 'I'm evil and want to cause trouble because that's what I do.' Yet this is the image that drove all the girls crazy. Now, not only will I have to deal with a old woman who deserves the "crankiest person ever" award, I have to deal with a boy who will probably act like a five year old when he doesn't get what he wants.

"Class, this is Collins Miller. He just came from London, England so I hope you can understand his accent because I hardly can." Ms. Finn chuckled as she looked down at her desk.

Who would want to move here from London? If anything I'd want to move TO London. I mentally said to myself as I look back to my journal and begin to draw again.

"Ms. Zaveri," Ms. Finn said loudly to catch my attention, "Would you like to show Mr. Collin around before returning to class?" She asked.

"I'd rather not, anyway I haven't finished my work yet. I'm sure that someone else would like to take him." I lied trying to get myself out of this stupid situation. I had finished my work, I always finish it early. Sue me for being a typical nerd.

"You have a high enough GPA. One worksheet not finished won't hurt that score. Please Ms. Zaveri just one day be a little more normal." Ms. Finn pressed on again faking a smile that didn't hide her desperation all to well.

This is what you get for having such good relationships with your teachers. I yelled at myself as I stand up from my desk and head to the door without looking at him. I needed to get this over with before my life would officially be over. Not that it wasn't already; because according to a lot of people my life has been over for a long time.

"So your name is Zaveri? That's a unique name." he asked as he stepped out of the classroom of admiring students- technically admiring girls and angered boys.

"No, but thank you." I said bluntly.

"But Ms. Finn just called you 'Ms. Zaveri'?" he questioned as he handed me his schedule.

"Zaveri is my last name." I asked as I took his schedule from his hands and began walking to his second period class.

"Well what's your first name then? You seem like an interesting person besides the evident attitude." he questioned once more.

"Autumn. This is your second period." I said pointing to the class on my right which belonged to Mr. Nicholas, aka the only lenient teacher here. "You're lucky cause your third and fourth are the next two classes in said order." I said as I handed him his schedule.

"You're not going to show me my other four classes?" he asked furrowing his eyebrows as he looked up to meet mine.

"I'm pretty sure you'll have someone by your side who actually wants to show you around the school before lunch even begins." I said with a sarcastic smile before I turned around and began to make my way to the classroom so I could actually "finish" the work that laid on my desk already complete.

Just as the bell rang and students walked out, Ms. Finn called me to her desk. "Now Autumn, I know you might hate me but I need a favor." She paused but continued without my input, "Collin is behind on his work for this class and I need you to tutor him."

"What no! Why me? Why not Ingrid, she's smarter then me!" I asked basically insulting myself in the process. Sure I was smart, but Ingrid never got a grade lower than a 99.

"You are my highest student. No if, and, or buts about it." She said and began writing on the wall. Groaning, I left her class to continue my officially ruined day.

Throughout the day all I heard was "Collin this, Collin that." I honestly thought my head was going to explode because the main word I heard was "Collin." Yet, I was happy when the final bell rung and I was able to walk to my car to drive home to watch "The Walking Dead." the mid-season premiere was on tonight and I was ready to see my baby Daryl in action.

"Hey, Autumn right?" Collins said just before I was able to unlock my car.

"Wow, you actually remembered it. I figured you'd forget that, but clearly I was wrong." I said sarcastically while unlocking my car.

"Can I have a ride? Most of the people I met today walk home." He asked stuffing his hands in his pockets.

"Fine, I literally have nothing better to do." I said shrugging my shoulders as he walked to the passenger's side of the car. "You live in that house on Alexander Drive right?" I asked as he nodded.

You so have much better things to do. My thoughts told me.

I know, I just didn't want to come over as a complete bitch you say I am. I spoke back.

Touché. My mind said back; man, I swear I'll go insane one of these days.

When we left the school the awkward silence kicked in. That was until I got a call from someone I honestly didn't want to talk to.

"What?" I said as I answered the phone.

"Oh, so no hello?" he asked.

"No, now what do you want I'm busy." I said stopping at a stop sign before turning left.

"Doing what?" he said surprised.

"I'm dropping off someone at their house because I'm that nice of a person." I said sarcastically.

"Okay," he said awkwardly, "Anyway, Harold wants you to come in. Says he got the perfect job for you before we have no choice but to let you go." he said.

"Give me details and I'll think about it." I said knowing I would say no anyway.

"He wants you to break into the house where the new family just moved into. He says that they got something he really wants." he said plainly.

"No." I couldn't do that even if I didn't like the dude sitting next to me.

"You ain't got a choice. I'll be sending pictures." he said before hanging up.

"Who was that?" Collins asked.

"No one." I said putting my phone down.

"It didn't sound like no one." He said.

"It's no one of your concern. Here's your house. Bye." I said stopping in front of the brand new house.

"Uh, thanks Autumn. I'll see you at school tomorrow." He said slightly hesitant, but got out of the car anyway.

I honestly didn't want to think of the stupid job I had to do, so I turned on the radio and just began to played "Smoke and Fire" by Sabrina Carpenter. So I sang along because she's amazing.

By the time I had got home, my show had already started. I had quickly popped some popcorn and quickly walked to the living room before laying on the couch and turning on the T.V., yet before I could even get through fifteen minutes, there was a knock on the door.

"What do you want?" I said opening the door to a Collin rather than an Alex. "Collin? What are you doing here? I just dropped you off at your house 10 minutes ago!" I said surprised.

"I wanted to ask you if you could show me around the town. I heard there was a party tonight at Abigail's house. Everyone's invited in honor of me. Weird huh? New kid, already getting a party." He said standing with his hands in his pockets.

"One, you don't need me. Two, I don't do parties." I said before going to close he door.

"Whoa, you are going to that party and you are going to get drunk and run when the police come." he said before entering my house without asking. Here I thought I was rude.

"I would like to see you try and get me out of this house." I said challenging him folding my arms.

-•••-

"I can't believe you did this to me." I said as I tried to roll down the black dress that Collin somehow managed to get me into.

"Oh come on. You don't look that bad." he said as he place his arm around my waist.

"If you're going to do that, keep it at the waist." I said raising his arm a bit.

"Geez, I'll get us a drink." he said before disappearing into the crowd.

"Wow, who knew Autumn would ever where a dress and attend a high school party?" Alex said from behind me.

Damn it.
