22. Chapter Twenty One

Ashley's POV

I giggled, as we walked onto the airplane. "Right here babe." Ashton said, guiding me to the row of seats. "Are you okay with regular seats? I know we usually fly first class, but there were none left." He said. "It's fine. It makes me feel normal." I replied, getting into the window seat. "Are you sure you want the window seat?" He asked. I looked around. "Because I'll take it if you don't want it." He smiled. "In your dreams." I laughed.

An old lady, who had to be in her eighties, sat next to Ashton, and took a deep breath. "I'm sorry hon. My breathing is a bit..." She said, before taking another breath. "Oh, it's alright." He smiled. "He doesn't bite ma'am." I leaned over. "Are you two a couple?" She asked. "We are." I replied. "So cute you two are. You remind me of my nephew. He's in prison, but you look like him." She replied. "That's... nice." I replied.

I put my hand on Ashton's lap, and smiled. "Oh, my, look at that ring. You must have quite some money." The old lady smiled. "This old thing?" I asked. She nodded, and smiled. "It's beautiful. My daughter just got married. Her husband is so handsome." She smiled.

"Where are you going?" Ashton asked the lady. "Well, I am going to see my new grand daughter. My daughter, the one who just got married, just had her baby." She replied. "Congratulations." I smiled. "Thank you. Where are you two going?" She asked. "We are going on a special vacation. We have three kids, so it's a vacation without kids." I replied. "How lovely." She smiled.

Ashton's POV

I have Ashley, who is asleep on me. I have Edna, who is also asleep on me. I have to go to the bathroom, but that means I have to move the two woman on me. I looked at Ashley, as her eyes fluttered. Her beautiful eyes. I smiled, and took her hand in mine.

Ashley and I's song started playing, from my phone. Michael? "Mike? Is everything okay?" I asked, answering the phone. "You'll never guess what just happened!" He yelled. "Would you keep it down?" I asked. "Dude, we got booked!" He yelled. "What do you mean?" I asked. "We got booked! We're going back on tour!" He yelled. "What?" I asked. "We got booked for the tour. We applied for a tour, and we got it." He said. "Why didn't you tell me?" I asked. "Because we knew you wouldn't want to go." He replied. "Mike, I have to go." I said, before hanging up.

Of course, I was ecstatic, but we haven't been on tour for a while. And I don't want to leave Ashley again, but it's too much to bring the whole family on tour with us.

Ashley moved her head, and opened her eyes. "Hello." I whispered. She smiled, and moved her head further up my neck. "I love you." She whispered, before closing her eyes again. I smiled, and kissed her head.

Edna woke up quickly, and coughed. "Are you okay?" I asked. "Oh, yes. Very old I am." She laughed. I smiled, and looked at her. "You remind me so much of my son. He's just like you." She said. "How so?" I asked. "Well, you are very handsome, just like my boy. You treat that woman lovely, just like my son." She replied. I smiled.

"How long have you and her been married?" She asked. "Not long, a few years." I replied. "Newbies." She smiled. I rolled my eyes and smiled back. "My husband and I were married for seventy five years." She said. "Wow." Was all I said. She nodded. "Oh, yes. It was quite some years." She replied.

"My husband, god bless his old poor soul, he was a pain my ass." She laughed. I smiled. "He would... leave his old rusty belt from the farm on the table, where we ate. And when the grandkids came, it was never a clean house. He would always bring mud into the house." She said. "What happened to him, if you don't mind me asking." I said.

"He was on the plane, seventy four years old he was, and the plane went down. As did he. He never made it home. I was at my eldest daughter's house, when the news flash came on. We were all devastated." She said. "And you're not afraid to fly?" I asked. "Oh, no. Flying is my favorite. Believe it or not, I used to be a pilot. That's how my husband and I met." She said.

"How did he propose?" I asked. "In the best way. Of course, it was old times, so there were horse and buggies. We were walking in New York, and he just got down and asked to marry me. We were so young. Only sixteen." She said. "How did you propose?" She asked. "Ashley was just pregnant with our daughter, and we went out to dinner. Her best friend, Annelyy, I flew her out from New York, and she showed up. And I did it in the restaurant." I replied.

"How many kids do you have?" I asked. It's been feeling like twenty questions. "I have a son, Michael, who's thirty. Then there's Elisa, she's twenty seven. And lastly, there's Kamden, she just turned twenty four." She smiled. "And how many grandchildren?" I asked. "Seven." She laughed. My eyes grew wide. "Michael has four, Michaela, Carson, Kaylee and Dustin. Elisa has two girls, Jennifer and Victoria. Then Kamden has a boy, who's name is actually Kaden, after Kamden and her husband, Aiden." She replied.

Ashley's POV

After switching numbers with Edna, we went into the cab. "It's lovely here." I said, looking out the window. "It's supposed to be." Ashton replied. "I'm so glad we got to do this." I smiled, turning to him. "Me too. You're going to flip out about the house we have." He said. "You got a house? Ashton, you know I don't like you spending your money." I sighed. "I know, but sometimes, it's okay to spend money on people we love." He replied, kissing my cheek.

"This is the house... Ashton." I said, amazed. "I told you I was going to make this trip worth it." He smiled, closing the front door. "How much did this cost?" I asked. "Price doesn't matter. I just want you to have an amazing time here." He replied.

"Jesus, Ashton." I said, as I looked at the bedroom. "Do you like it?" He asked. "I'm... speechless. Ashton, this is amazing." I replied. "Wait, wait for it." He smiled, opening another door. "What is this?" I asked. "Your closet." He replied. My jaw dropped.

"So, should we get settled in, and then go for a swim?" He asked. "With drinks?" I asked. "With drinks, my dear." He replied, kissing me. I smiled.

Ashton put my suitcase on the bed, along with his. "This place is truly amazing." I smiled. "Babe, I have to tell you something." He said. "Can it wait?" I asked. "It's really important." He said. "What is it?" I asked. "Well... w-" My phone cut him off.

"Hello?" I answered. "Mom." Jackie said. "What's wrong?" I asked. "Nothing. I miss you. Mikey is screaming. And him and brook locked themselves in a room." She said. I laughed. "Don't bother them." I said. "Trust me, I don't want to. Oh. My teacher needs to know something. But it can wait until you get back." She said. "Alright. Don't bother anyone if you don't need to." I said. "I won't. Have fun." She replied.

I sipped my margarita, as Ashton gulped down his beer. "I can't believe that was so long ago." I laughed. "I remember when... Jackie used to pour her cereal over her head, just to piss you off." Ashton smiled. "Don't even get me started on that." I laughed. "It was kinda cute." He smiled. "No, it wasn't. I had to clean her up." I replied. He laughed, and hugged my waist. "Should we swim?" He asked. I nodded, and put my drink down.

I dipped my head in the water, and smiled. "The water feels nice." I said. I looked to my right, seeing a diving board. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" I asked. "Jumping contest?" He asked. I smiled widely, and swam to the ladder. "Whoever goes on the diving board first, get's one additional point!" I yelled, putting my foot on the ladder.

Ashton grabbed my waist, and tried to pull me off the ladder. "No!" I squealed, trying to get up the ladder. He laughed, and me off. I pushed him under the water, and climbed as fast as I could out of the pool. I ran to the diving board, and danced. "I got here first!" I yelled. He rolled his eyes, and laughed.

I started the contest off with a dive, which wasn't good enough for Ashton, because he did a flip. "Oh, you little showoff." I said, turning around. "What are you doing?" He asked. "Something I haven't shown you yet." I smiled, bending my knees. I did a perfect backflip into the pool.

"Where did you learn that!?" He yelled. "My mom was a gymnast." I replied with a smile. "And you're calling me a show off." He said. I smiled, and nodded. "You are a show off." I replied, kissing his chest.

Hello lovelies! Alright, chapter breakdown. The vacation chapters are going to be broken down into individual chapters. I haven't decided how many chapters there will be, but I know they will be broken into different chapters. Because if not, this chapter would be super, super long. The chapters will not be just of Ashton and Ashley. It will be jumping from home, to the vacation, and some chapters will just be at home. Keep that in mind;)

Also, my co-author will take over a few of those chapters, because I am super busy with schoolwork, and updating other books. So, she will come in a save the day!

I'm so sorry it took so long to update this chapter. I had a few technical difficulties. I lost my laptop charger. But luckily, I found it! Yay!
