Ashton's POV

"So, what was going on last night?" Michael asked. "What do you mean?" I replied, as I took a sip of my coffee. He looked around. "Jackie and Lauren are at school, and Bryant and Nicole are still asleep." I informed.

"I heard something about you keeping your hands to yourself, and not wanting to touch Ashley, because you scared her?" He asked. I took a deep breath. "And I heard about, um, starting again?" He asked. I nodded.

"What's up with that?" He asked. "We got into a fight the other night, about me not getting surgery, so we don't have any more kids, and I told her I didn't get it, and she flipped. We had this whole fight, and she was screaming things, and I wanted to hit her. And I told her my hands were twitching.

"She told me she was scared, and... She was depressed, and I left her in the room by herself.

"Anyway, she went to the doctors the next day, and when I went into the bedroom, I looked down at the floor, seeing her box on the ground. That's how I knew. Her things in her box were missing." I finished. He shook his head.

"Hey dad." Jackie smiled, as she walked into house. "Hey bug." I smiled. "Where's mum?" She asked. "Mum is working a little late tonight. But she'll be home for story time." I replied. She nodded, and started her homework.

"Where's Lauren?" I asked. "She went somewhere with Jack." She replied, keeping her eyes focused on her paper. I nodded, and kissed her head. "Don't eat too much food, okay?" I asked. She nodded. "I'll be upstairs. If you need anything, you know where I am." I smiled.

"Hey dad, can we talk?" Jackie asked, as she walks into the bedroom. I sat on the bed, thinking about Ashley starting again, as she tapped her foot against the floor. "Um yeah, sure bug. What's on your mind?" I asked, getting out of my trance. Oh lord. What could this be? I only hope it's not something bad. I don't think I can handle more stress. After what happened with Ashley, I think I'm gonna lose it if one more bad thing happens.

"Well you're a boy, right?" She asked, as she sat across from me. "Yes bug, I'm a boy." I laughed slightly. "Well, how did you act when you first liked mum?" She asked. "To be honest, I don't really remember how I was. All I really remember is that I loved her once I laid my eyes on her." I replied. Its true. All I know is that I loved her a soon as we met. And although she hated me, I loved her. She was different.

"So, then, if you're a boy, then how do boys usually act when they like a girl?" She asked. "Well, Some boys may tease you or call you names. They might want to always be around you. Or they might just ignore you. Most of the boys your age, will tease you. Why?" I lowered my eyebrows in a questioning look.

"I think a boy might like me. But there's a problem." She replied, with a small sigh. I looked at her confused. "What's the problem?" I asked, turning my head to the side slightly. She took a deep breath. "Boys have cooties, dad. And I don't want to catch them." She replied, making a sour face. I laughed.

"If boys have cooties, and you don't want to catch them, why haven't you gotten them from me?" I asked laughing. "You're different. You don't have cooties because you're with mom and she didn't catch them. If she got them, then I would get them." She replied. I laughed again.

"Well bug, I can promise you that boys don't have cooties. They just say they do, so then girls won't come near them." I smiled.

"Just between you and me," she leaned closer and I followed "girls don't have them either." She whispered. I laughed. This is just too cute. But really really awkward.

"Thanks dad. I love you." She smiled, kissing my cheek. "You're welcome bug." I smiled as she hugged me. I hugged her back and felt like she really looked up to me for once, instead of Lauren.

"So, tell me all about this boy who likes you." I said smiling. "Dad!" She whined and started to walk away. "You're gonna have to tell me sooner or later!" I yelled as she was halfway down the hallway.

A few seconds later, Ashley walked into the bedroom. "Hey, I heard yelling. What happened?" She asked confused, as she climbed into bed with me. "I just had to talk to Jackie about boys." I said, and let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding. "How did that go?" She asked with a raised eyebrow. "Alright. She thinks boys have cooties" I replied. She laughed and shook her head.

"You know I love you, right?" She asked. I nodded. "I love you too." I smiled, taking her hand in mine.
