Why the rain makes me cry

The rain. You wont see them. All of it gets washed way. Too much of it gets washed away. I don't need him. Or anybody. I love nobody and nobody loves me. I'm treated like a monster. The rain is my only friend. The tears and the rain mmix together so you can never see them.

8. Rules

(Rhain's) POV

I woke up and the sun was shining. I slowly sat up. I yawned while stretching and slowly got up. I followed the path that I walked. Just a straight line through the small woodsy area. I walked out of the lining of trees and had to squint my eyes. It was too bright. I stumbled a bit at first but started to walk slowly to Oliver and Amara's house. They were apparently my biological parents. It took me over night to think about it. It still doesn't sit right with me for some reason. I ended up at the door. Surprisingly it was unlocked. "That's the first." I muttered. I gently turned the doorknob and opened the door quietly. I stealthy slipped in. I looked around. "Nobody up? Good." I thought and tiptoed up the stairs. Making sure I gently shut the door waking nobody up. When I got up to the guest room I was tackled onto the ground. "RHAIN! YOU BETTER NOT EVER DO THAT TO ME EVER AGAIN!" yelled Amara as she squeezed the life out of me. I just layed there letting her slowly kill me. "Amara get off of her. You're going to suffocate her if you keep that up. "What? She didn't say anything." she muttered and got off of me. "Young lady! If you will be living with us we need to set some rules here!" said Amara. "One. Don't leave without telling us where you will be going." said Oliver massaging his temples.

"That's right! You nearly gave me a heart attack!" she yelled. "Two! You will have to be punish accordingly by what we deem fit." she Amara. "Three. Don't ever bring guys over without us her." Oliver stated. "That's right! Have you ever heard of h birds and the bees?" asked Amara. "Don't go there. Tell her when we aren't setting rules." Oliver said staring at my confused face. "Four. Starting now you will be eating three meals a day!" said Amara. I turned around. "I guess I will be going after that fourth rule." I muttered. "Five! You can't leave when we are talking to you." stated Oliver. I turned back around and stared at them. "Six. ummm. Wait a minute I'm thinking." said Amara. Oliver just sighed. "Six. Don't lock yourself away. We will be having family time ever night starting tomorrow after dinner." he said. "Seven. Don't you ever and I mean EVER think about suicide or anything of the sorts." Oliver started again. "That should be all. We will add and remove some rules depending on your behavior." he said. I nodded. "It seems I can't follow rules four six, and seven." I stated.

"Well you have to. Because your living with us. We are you parents after all. We will re-raise you and you will learn to love yourself again." said Amara. "That's impossible." I stated. "Rule eight! Don't say things aren't possible." said Oliver. I just looked at him weirdly. "Rhain we are going to the doctors to get some blood tests done to see if you are really our daughter." said Oliver. "What if I'm not?" I asked. "Then we will adopt you!" stated Amara. I looked at her. "You'll do that for me?" I asked. They nodded.

(Oliver's) POV

This it the most emotions I've seen out of her. Does she know what it feel lie to be loved? Can she love? "I will make her happy. "Ok. We need to go to the doctors. Lets go." I said and the two girls followed me out of the house. After a few minutes we got to the doctors. Rhain looked at it like she didn't know what it was or what to do. She hid behind Amara as people exited it. "She knows fear?" I thought. We entered and I walked up to the receptionist. "Hello we are here to see if this girl is our daughter. So we need some blood work done." I said. She nodded and typed on her computer. "Ok. The doctor will see you. Down the left hall and turn the corner you'll see examination room 5 go in there." she said. We nodded and followed her instructions. A doctor came in. "I was called here for some blood work. Are you three the people?" asked the man. I nodded. "We are here to see if this girl is our daughter." I said. "Name?" he asked. "Rhain." I said. "Last name middle name?" he asked me. "No that I know of." I said. He nodded. "Dose she have any allergic reactions to anything?" he asked. "I don't know." I said. "We need to conduct some tests to see. We will give her a full examination before we will do the blood work." he said.

"I'm sorry. I must be causing you a lot of trouble." whispered Rhain. "not at all." sad Amara "Ok. Miss Rhain I will need to inspect you real quick." said the doctor. Rhain looked at me scared. "go oh ahead. He won't hurt you." I assured her. She sat down on the examination table. I need you to open your mouth and say 'aaaahhhh'" he said. Rhain opened her mouth/ "Oh dear my. You throat is swollen I'm surprised you can speak. Can she speak?" he asked us. I nodded my head. He then took a light and shined it in her eyes. Her pupils barely dilate. "This isn't good. No, no. no not at all." he muttered. He then checked her ears. He didn't say anything but he then started to ask Rhain some questions. "When was the last time you went to the doctors Rhain?" he asked. "Not at all." she said. My eyes widened. "Rhain you didn't say anything about that." I said. She shrugged. "I didn't even know what a doctor is." she admitted. "If I got sick I was left to deal with it on my own." she said.

"Sir, Ma'am how long have you known miss Rhain here?" asked the doctor. "A few days but I just know it. She is my daughter!" said Amara. "I see. Mother's intuition? Right?" he asked. She nodded. "Well Rhain here is very sick. Her throat is swollen so bad it's amazing she can speak. How long have you been coughing lately?" he asked "About three months." she said. "THREE MONTHS! Rhain why didn't you tell us about this?" I asked. "I've learned to deal with the pain no matter how painful it is." she calmly said. "Rhain you have to tell us these things. Doctor what can you do to help her?" I asked. "Well I could give her some type of medication that could help." he said. "Please anything to help her." I said. "I also need to cheek her eyes." he said. I nodded. "This may take some time. But w can take some blood from you guys right now." he said. "That's what we came here for so do it." I said. The doctor left and came back but with a couple vials and three needles. Rhain whimpered at the sight of needles. "Calm down Rhain. You will only feel a poke. That's all. Remember you said you can block the pain out. So do it for us ok." I said. She nodded. As the doctor came closer to her wit the needle she slammed her eyes shut and tensed up. "You need to relax or it will hurt worse." Amara explained. Rhain relaxed and the doctor withdrew her blood. it was my turn next then Amara's. After that was done we got out of there and went home. "We will get the results in a couple days." said the doctor to us before we left the office.
