Don't Leave Me

"Ron!" I screamed but he disapparated. I didn't think he would leave us, but he did. I also didn't think he'd become a deatheater, but he did.

I was explaining what I knew about horcruxes to Harry one night in the tent while we were on the run from Voldemort, interrupting my giving him a haircut, which I wasn't really good at anyway.

"You're brilliant Hermione!" He told me excitedly.

I smiled.

"Actually I'm highly logical, which allows me to see things which others overlook!"

That's when Ron appeared. We're kind of a couple, I guess you could say, but neither of us are ready to admit that we like each other. He looked glum and a bit angry.

"Ron," I greet him gently, sensing that he was probably feeling a bit tense.

"That's right, I'm still here," He mutters, "Go on, continue talking without me, It's not like we're going to find anymore horcruxes at this rate."

Harry stands up.

"What, did you think you were gonna be back with your mum by christmas, Ron?"

"You don't know how this feels Harry, you have no family!" Ron shot back.

The tent was suddenly filled with silence that I wanted to break. I wanted to brush Ron's red hair out of his eyes and tell him it was okay, when Harry lunged at Ron.

"Stop!" I cried as they fought on the ground.

I'd never seen either of them so angry, especially at each other. When Ron and Harry stood up, I tried to take the locket horcrux off of Ron's neck, but he swatted my hand away like he didn't even know me.

"What is wrong with you!" I shouted as I held my stinging hand.

"Why don't you just leave, Ron!" Harry was saying.

Ron nodded.

"Are you coming Hermione?" He asked me, tossing the locket on the floor.

"I- I... Ron..."

Ron frowned at my slight shake of my head and ran off into the woods.

"Ron!" I screamed, chasing after him.

"Ron, Ron! Please come back!"

Tears were streaming down my face.

"Don't worry 'Mione, you'll see me soon," He muttered, and disapparated.

"Ron!" I screamed, and I dropped onto my knees and started bawling.

How could he leave me? Was it the horcrux? What did he mean by he would see me again?  Everything was so confusing, and I couldn't stop crying, so I sat down against a tree, and cried until there were no more tears. After a while I must have fallen asleep, and Harry must have brought me back into the tent, because when I woke up I was on my bed, staring at the place where Ron threw the horcrux. I cried some more. I never thought that Ron would leave us. I also never thought he would become a deatheater, but he did.
