“I’ve missed this,” Riley smiles at Lucas. The full moon lights up the night and gives the two kids all the visibility they need.

“Well, I need it,” Lucas pulls Riley into his chest. “I almost killed that guy in the rec room.”

“Thanks again for that. All the military guys here are terrible. I want to get out of here.”

“After I fill up on your blood, I want to talk about that more.”

“What? Getting ou-” Riley is cut off as Lucas sinks his fangs into her neck.

It seems like many months since the last time Lucas had the chance to drink blood from his favorite girl. The sensation makes him hold Riley closer, and all he can think about is a world where she is safe. A world where nothing stands between his dreams with Riley.

          “Luc…as,” Riley sighs.

Lucas slowly pulls away from Riley’s neck, her wound healing up almost instantly. “Ah, nothing bad happened this time.”

“Damn,” Riley tries to stand and fails. “Can we sit?”

“Oh, of course,” Lucas slowly maneuvers the two of them to the floor. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to drain so much from you.”

“It is fine,” Riley takes a deep breath. “Now, what about getting, out of here.”

“Ah, yes. We need to get out of here as soon as possible.”

          “Why?”

“My vampire friends have been communicating to me, and a revolution is starting soon. We need to help them.”

“Sounds fun. How,” Riley takes a second to get her breath back. “Sorry.”

“No, it is more my fault. Take the time you need.”

She giggles, “I’m fine. How will we get out?”

“I’ll go first with whatever I can fit in my backpack, and maybe your guitar. You will tell Lieutenant Reynolds that I turned into my wolf persona and left.”

“That’s a good idea,” Riley moves around and proceeds to lie down, resting her head on Lucas’s lap. “Then what about us?”

“You’ll escape just as I will, a few days later. With help from my friends, and meet up at the camp they have set up.”

“Sounds perfect,” the girl’s eyes flutter close. “It’s so nice out, I don’t want to go back into the stuffy barrack.”

“Then I’ll stay here with you, while you sleep, and watch over you.”

          “You are too sweet.”

“Just to you,” Lucas runs a hand through Riley’s messy hair. The tangles hinder him a bit. “I want world peace so bad. For all of us.”

“It will happen, vampire boy,” Riley smiles. “Don’t worry about it. I can feel it.”

“That is a good idea,” Paige smirks. “When is it happening?”

“Tomorrow night is when I’m leaving,” Lucas ruffles the young girl’s hair.

“When did you guys come up with this?” Daniel climbs up into his bunk.

“Just a couple nights ago,” Riley climbs out of her bunk. “I don’t like it in here.”

“None of us do,” Bella fans herself with her hand. “Even on the floor it sucks.

“Just a few more days,” Lucas glances over at Riley. “Then we’ll be living in tents.”

“Really? That’s way cool,” Paige bursts into giggles.

“What kind of creatures are at the camp?” Daniel asks.

“All different kinds,” Lucas begins remember all the friends he used to hang out with. That was, until he got involved with mortals. “There’s witches, wizards, dragons, werewolves, fairies, centaurs, and so many more.”

“Dragons,” Riley mumbles. “I really want to meet a dragon.”

“There’s also crossbreeds. So, half person half dragon. Or half person half fairy.”

“How does that happen?” Bella questions.

“That would be Lucifer’s fault,” Lucas clenches his jaw. “He likes messing with people for a soul. He has been the reason for mixing of species.

“Isn’t he the devil?” Paige yawns.

“The Kind of Doomed Souls is more like it,” Lucas shrugs. “Either way, keep clear of him. He only wants to do is make trouble.”

“Regardless of all that, I’m ready to get out of here and be at the creature camp,” Riley grins.

“Where did he go!” Lieutenant Reynolds screams at the four kids Lucas left back at the military camp. “Where is the vampire boy!”

“He turned into his wolf persona, bit into his backpack and my guitar case, and ran off,” Riley brushes some hair out of her face. “Who knows where his is now. He could be in a whole other country by now.”

“He can do that?” Lieutenant Reynolds growls. “Since when?”

“Since forever,” Paige stretches her arms above her head. “That’s a skill of vampires, ya know? They don’t all turn into bats, silly.”

“Act mature, girl. Now, where is the boy?”

“Riley already said, we don’t have any idea,” Daniel lets out a breath. “He can’t control himself when he changes into his wolf-self.”

“I can’t believe any of you!” Lieutenant Reynolds exclaims, throwing his hands in the air and turning away from the kids. “I can’t trust any of you.”

“Why not?” Bella shades her eyes from the bright sun with her hand. “We’ve done all you’ve wanted. With barely any complaining. We have obeyed every rule of yours. Are we really not trustworthy?”

The lieutenant turns back to face the group. “Well, obviously I can’t, seeing as the most important one escaped!”

“Listen mister,” Riley steps forward and points right at his chest. “Yelling at us is getting you nowhere. Yelling at us is not going to have Lucas magically appear. I don’t care if you don’t believe us anymore. Let us go back to our training or whatever.”

The two glare at each other for what seems like an eternity before Lieutenant Reynolds speaks up.

“Fine,” he hisses. “You’re all lucky I can’t do anything to any of you. Get out of my face. Now.”

“With pleasure,” Riley smirks, spins on her heal, and sashays off into the camp.
