The Super Babies - Part 3

The S.M.S.B. is back, but now they're all a lot older. In this era of peace, Baby Intelligence, now going by Master Intelligence, continues to train the group. Among them is a new member named Red X, whose powers could be more than meets the eye. And at Bast Castle, a past enemy is planning to return from the dead and seek revenge. And if the NoHeads return to power, chaos will follow.

8. Cynthia's Departure

Finally, it was time for Red X to go.

However, her departure would not be permanent. She would only be gone for a few months.

After packing her suitcase and saying goodbye to Sebiscuits, Red X dragged it outside and onto the docking bay. Her ride was coming to the MBH very soon. She also waved to Lindsay on the way out.

Suddenly, Lindsay came out through the doorway. After a few twists and turns, Lindsay stopped walking and looked over. Wait...where's she going? That has to be her parents' van. She turned back, about to look for Master Intelligence, but just then he arrived through the doorway.

"Hey--hey, Master!" Lindsay called out at the last moment. Master Intelligence walked up in front of her, and Lindsay took the chance to ask her question. "Where's Cynthia going?"

"Home," Master Intelligence replied with a slight smile.

Home? This is her home! Lindsay looked confused. "Home?" she repeated.

"It's June, and she's going home," Master Intelligence replied formally, "to spend a few months with her family."

What?! Lindsay's face hardened. I don't even know who my parents are! Lucky prick.

"Is something wrong, Lindsay?" asked Master Intelligence.

Just then, the van arrived. It came to a safe landing at the edge of the docking bay.

"No," Lindsay snapped.

Red X, meanwhile, turned to the van belonging to her parents. "Bye, Lindsay!" she said. The ramp came down, and she stepped onto it, her suitcase behind her. "Congratulations on winning that trophy!"

Lindsay turned away and pouted.

The van began to skim the bay before leaving entirely. As it did, Red X peered out of the window. "Bye, everyone!" The van flew away into the sky and finally, out of sight.

Master Intelligence watched it go. "Come on, Lindsay."

"All right," she grumbled.

As they walked inside, Master Intelligence said, "Is something wrong? I know something troubles you. What is it?"

"I don't want to talk about it," Lindsay replied.

"All right," said Master Intelligence, and turned to the stairway leading to his office. "See you later."
