Mickey and Britta travelled back to Holland, Mickey wanted to spend some time with her as he had been busy preparing for the title fight He now had twenty grand and he wanted to buy that farm with the windmill so that Britta and he could live out the rest of their lives together. Britta took him to Oostzaan where she had seen a property for sale at a fraction of what the others were. There was a lot of land with the farm. It certainly had potential said Mickey as they walked around.

There would be some refurbishment of the house and the mill because the occupant was now retired and wanted to sell. “How much are they asking for the property Britta?

“Around £50.000 I reckon; maybe less if I can talk them over and get them to sell it to us cheaper. They went for lunch in a little bistro called Eetcafe where they made plans to buy the farm once Mickey had enough money to pay for it cash. Britta said that her father and Pieter would help them once they bought the place. “Dad is amazing when he sets his mind to making things; I will tell him what I want and he will build it.’

“We will have all the modern furniture Mickey; it will look nice when it’s finished I promise.

“I could ask dad to loan us some money to buy they place before someone else buys it and we could be working on it whilst you are training.

“That would be good and when I have time I will come over and help.’

“I will ask my father tonight.

“Okay lets have a word with the owners and see if we can get them to lower the price a bit for us.

The drove back to the farm then knocked on the door where Britta spoke in Dutch to Mr Ade Baenen who was a widow. The old man explained about the land and how as a young man he had worked the farm land. Now in his seventies he was looking to retire and go to live with his sister in Wormerveer. “Britta let the man talk as he gave them the history of the farm. It was a while before Britta got round to asking him about price and at first he was reluctant to let the farm go for less than £55.000

But Britta stuck to her guns and explained that she was in love with Mickey and they wanted to live and work a farm together but they had very little money.

Mr Baenen looked into Britta’s eyes then smiled.

Okay he said in broken English so Mickey could understand. “I will let you have the farm for £48.000 cash and that is my final offer.

Britta hugged the old man then said yes.’ “Can I use your phone Mr Baenen?

“Yes of course. It is over here on the little table.

Britta rang her father and told him about the farm; then she asked if he would loan her the money to buy it.

She told her father that Mickey had twenty grand and that she would need twenty eight thousand to buy the place.
