Over the two days that Mickey stayed he took out the family to restaurants, they went to museums and visited the art gallery at museum square Stedeliijk where they saw the works of Van Gogh and his contemporise. The time came for Mickey to return to London to make ready for another fight against Frank Dolan. The fight was to be held at the Rainbow theatre Finsbury Park. He took Britta with him but told her that she was to stay close and not to go off on her own. Mickey had to concentrate on his preparation. He went to the gym twice per day and ran in the mornings. He was now ready once again to do battle. When Dolan stepped into the ring, he had a good following. He’d won fifteen contests, drew two, and lost only one. He’d only stopped two of his opponents which meant that he wasn’t a great puncher.

Mickey walked to the ring with Argent blasting out “Hold your head up”

He winked at Britta as he stepped onto the ring apron then ducked under the rope and danced in the centre of the ring. When the fight got under way the awkward Dolans style made him difficult to catch with a clean shot. It was in the middle of the fifth round when Mickey stepped up the pressure on Dolan that cracks started to appear his tight defence started to wane and his legs began to slow making it easier for Mickey to exploit.

A good right over the top of the left lead had Dolan wobbly legged going back to his corner at the end of the round. In the sixth round two body shots from Mickey and a left hook sent Dolan down; Sid Nathan counted him out with two minutes and thirty one seconds to go in the round.

Five days later Mickey was in the ring again. This time he was up against Osmo Kaneva from Finland.

Mickey blasted him out in less than a round.’

On December 22 Mickey fought Ivan Drew stopping him in two rounds after Drew was dropped to the canvas four times. He had made three grand in the space of a couple of weeks. Mickey went back to Amsterdam with Britta for the Christmas holidays. Dani came over she had a new boyfriend with her. Baako Wagner was a boat builder and a nice guy. He was a boxing fan and he and Mickey hit it off right away.

On Christmas morning Mickey rang his parents to wish them merry Christmas; he told them that he would see them in the New Year. He felt guilty just sending his parents a cheque but it wasn’t safe for him to return yet.
