32. 32

One thing I have learned Mr Worthington and that is; there is always a bigger fish waiting to gobble up the fish who thinks he’s the biggest.’ Anyone can be got to, even you. And just so we understand ourselves I will leave you a little reminder what a small fish in a big pond can do.’

The lads set about smashing everything in the house upstairs and down then Fergie tied Worthington to a chair he carefully removed his shoes and socks then proceeded to smash his knee caps and feet with a hammer.

The screams even though Fergie had gagged Worthington, could be heard a long way as Fergie meted out his kind of justice.

“Think yourself lucky that I haven’t killed you Worthington; I do hope you have got the message. “ Do we understand ourselves?’

Mickey left Worthington in a heap as Fergie tipped the chair over and they made their way to the cars. Gordon and Fergie made sure that the heavies would never fight again either before getting back into his car.

Dani came in and saw Britta she was smiling as she told her that Nigel had taken her to a top class restaurant for lunch.

“Do you love him?’ they spoke in Dutch because no one else was around.

“I don’t know; sometimes he can be really sweet and other times appear distant and it’s as if I’m not really there.’

“Be careful is all I’m saying Dani; take things very slowly.’

“Like you Britta, come on if I waited as long as you I would be drawing my last breath.

Things have developed between Mickey and me; we slept together at the weekend.

“You dog Britta Larsen; come on tell me all about it.’

Britta went on to tell her friend all about how she’d ended up in bed with Mickey and how much they felt about each other.

“So what are you going to do now?

“Well he says that he wants’ to set up a farm with me once he has made enough money.

“That’s great; I hope it works out for you both.’

It was nearly eight thirty when Mickey returned he went into his flat got his shower stuff and then went into the bathroom and locked the door. He ran the water until it was hot enough to step under then pulled the curtain around him.

Mickey thought about what he had done; he would have to disappear for a while because Worthington would be looking for him. Crippled or not he had contacts and money behind him so he would have to watch his step.
