Poor Amber has been bullied for most of her life, but there's one boy who is the harshest of them all. Jake is controlled by his girlfriend, Courtney, to do anything she pleases. Emily is the best friend in love with the boy, Finn, in the bully group. Everyone is wearing a mask. Everyone is in disguise.

4. Winners!

*Last Day Of School*
"This school year has been quite a successful one," the principal begins his speech. "The best test scores in the country once again. Good job students." Clapping erupts for a few seconds before it is shushed.
"Is he going to do a big long speech before he gets to the Paris winners?" Emily whispers to me.
"I think so," I whisper back. "That's how he works."
“We've had a lot of great new staff," the principal continues. "We've also seen an increase of kids who want to come here. We're thinking of doing some sports teams next year. We really are growing as a school."
"No one cares," I grumble.
"Now, I don't want this speech to get too long, so I'm going to wrap it up and get to the Paris trip winners. The whole thing was done by a computer. So everyone had an equal chance. So, without wasting any more time. I'll name off the five winners."
"When I call your name, please just stand up," the principal smiles. "The first person going on the trip is a young man by the name of Finn Sanders.”
I see Finn stand up as a few people clap.
"Next is a young lady by the name of Emily Johnson."
Emily and I glance at each other as she stands up.
"Another going lady is going by the name of Amber Fowler."
I smile as I stand up. Giving Emily a quick hug. This is like out of a dream.
"Next is a young man by the name of Jake Bradley."
Jake stands up and him and Finn high-five.
"The last person going on the trip is a young lady. And her name is Courtney Reed."
Courtney stands up and waves to everyone like she's a fucking princess. It had to be her. She had to ruin everything.
"The five of you will stop by my office after this to pick up all you need. So, everyone is dismissed."
*Thirty Minutes Later*
"Open you folders once you get home," the principal says. "It has all the information you'll need."
"This is awesome," I smile.
"Well, have fun on the trip kids."
The five of us nod before walking out.
"Jake, want to come over to my house and open our folders there?" Courtney bats her eyelashes at Jake.
"No thank you," Jake says.
"Whatever. See you later then," she stomps off.
"Amber, we've got a surprise for you," Finn smiles.
"Yeah," Emily grabs my hand. "So come in."
The four of us walk for a while before we get to the parking lot.
I see Courtney speed off in her fancy pink convertible. Then I see a red, Volkswagen Beetle sitting beside Jake and Finn's slick black car. The little red Bug is a convertible.
"Is that our new car?" I look at Emily.
"It is," she smiles.
"So, are we going to your guy's apartment to open our folders?" Jake asks.
"Yes we are."
"Let's go then!" Finn exclaims.
*Twenty Minutes Later*
"On three we all open our folders and pour the contents in front of us," Emily instructs. Jake, Finn, her, and I are sitting on the living room floor.
"One, two, three," I say. We all rip open our folders and turn them upside down.
"Plane tickets," Jake holds up his.
"Maps, a couple of them," Finn holds them up.
"This looks to be a list of places we could visit," Emily holds up the paper so she can view it better. "Oh, and it has our hotel on it: The Ritz."
"Fancy," I smile as I pick up the only thing left. "I've got a letter."
"Read it out loud," Finn says.
"Dear lucky winner, congrats on winning the trip to Paris. Since you're going for school, you'll have to do a little work. Take lots of pictures and make a scrapbook. Maybe take part in the scavenger hunt we have on the places list. But most of all, have fun."
"Interesting," Emily says.
"Do you think we'll have to turn something in?" Jake asks.
"Maybe," Finn says. "I say we four team up and do the scavenger hunt.'
"We can team up and make one big scrapbook as well," I smile.
"What about poor Courtney," Emily pouts and bats her eyelashes in a joke against Courtney. "She'll be all alone."
"Good, I hope she hates it," I spat. "Let her feel pain like I have every day at school for the past few years."
"She will hate it," Jake says. "Don't worry about that."
"How are the rooms set up?" Finn asks.
"Doesn't say," Emily answers. "Hey, since you guys are here. Wanna have dinner with us?"
"Sounds nice," Jake says. "But it’s a tad early for dinner."
"Finn and I can make something that takes a few hours to cook."
"What about Jake and me?' I ask.
"Watch some TV," Finn shrugs. "Talk. It’s up to you."
*Thirty Minutes Later*
~Emily's POV~
"Do you think it’s a good idea to leave them in the living room?" Finn asks as he cuts up the carrot for our soup.
"How else are they going to get to know each other?" I take another look at the cookbook.
"How come you wanted me to help you make dinner and not Amber?"
"I wanted to get to know you. Three months in Paris, I'm going to get to know you at some time. So why not now?"
~Amber's POV~
"So, do you like video games?" Jake asks.
"I love most video games," I answer. "I also love graphic novels and anime."
"Cool. I like to skateboard and draw."
"You draw?"
"Mythical creatures and anime."
"That's awesome. Maybe on the plane over to Paris we can sit by each other," I look at him. "So you can draw and I can watch."
"Maybe. If I can watch you play a video game," he smirks.
"Seems fair. Let's pick a game," I smirk back.
